Meet A Space

We were lucky to catch up with A Space recently and have shared our conversation below.

A Space, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

Our work ethic is rooted in our passion for the arts, a commitment to community engagement, and the diverse backgrounds of our team members. We emphasize collaboration, supporting one another to create a sense of accountability that enhances our collective efforts. Inspired by cultural values that prioritize dedication and hard work, we are motivated to create meaningful experiences for our audience and provide a platform for underrepresented voices. Embracing a mindset of continuous learning allows us to adapt to the evolving art landscape while drawing inspiration from artists and leaders who exemplify strong work ethics. Ultimately, our work ethic reflects our shared values and the vibrant community we serve.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

A Space provides a cutting-edge and creatively rich platform for young emerging artists in contemporary art world. We collaborate with talented artists and brands to co-curate art exhibitions, art parties, and other art events.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Diversity and Inclusivity: Our team is a vibrant mix of voices and backgrounds, which enriches our curatorial practice. This diversity not only enhances our exhibitions but also fosters an inclusive environment where every artist and audience member feels valued. For those starting out, seek to build a diverse network and collaborate with artists from various backgrounds. This will broaden your perspective and inspire your creative choices.

Innovative Content Creation: We embrace non-traditional methods, including the use of memes and social media to engage audiences. By infusing humor and contemporary culture into our programming, we break down barriers and make art more accessible. For early-career individuals, don’t hesitate to experiment with different forms of content creation. Explore how digital platforms can enhance your storytelling and attract a wider audience.

Global Perspective: Operating in an increasingly interconnected world, we prioritize international collaborations and exhibitions that showcase global narratives. This approach not only enriches our offerings but also promotes cultural exchange. Emerging professionals should consider seeking opportunities abroad or engaging with international artists to expand their horizons and bring fresh ideas back to their local scene.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

We prioritize an open dialogue within our team. Discussing our feelings of overwhelm not only builds camaraderie but also enables us to identify solutions collectively. For those early in their journey, fostering a culture of communication can create a supportive environment where challenges are addressed collaboratively.
