Meet Aaliyah Sullivan

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Aaliyah Sullivan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Aaliyah, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

When acting I used to often feel that I had to prove I belonged in the room. But over time I’ve learned that the more time I spent around people the more I trusted myself and learned that everyone messes up and that no one is perfect. No one is as focused on you than yourself no one is judging you but yourself so you have to remind yourself of that.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

The thing I love most about being an actress is that I can express myself through a character while making others understand the situation of the character I’m playing. I love being able to connect with a crowd/audience on a deep emotional level through a character I’ve played. I also love being noticed by people and them loving the work they’ve seen that I’ve done.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Three qualities and skills that were most impactful on my journey were to be kind, be humble, and be grateful. Being kind to everyone always makes people happy and brightens their day. Everyone loves when someone is kind to them. Being humble for everything you have in life is what keeps you grounded. And being grateful is something that I learned I must do. Not everyone can do the thing they love and get paid for it so always be grateful that you have the opportunity to do what it is that you love doing.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I would love to work with other actor’s who are as passionate about acting as I am. Some of my dream collaborations are roles with KeKe Palmer, Storm Reid, Kerry Washington, Adam Sandler, Anthony Mackie, Zendaya, and Coco Jones among other actors. If they are reading this and would like to connect with me my Instagram is aaliyahsullivan__ and i’m open for collaboration.
