We recently connected with Aarohi Allegre and have shared our conversation below.
Aarohi, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
Connecting with my inner-self and inner-child has also been my go to as well as practicing mindfulness and meditation. Most of our childhood is stored not in photos, but in certain smells, lights of the day and fleeting sounds. I love being outside & in nature, which I’ve been doing a lot lately. I’ve been getting so many warm reminders of the days I used to play in the sun. There isn’t a single instance that I can think of where my personal growth was not proceeded by pain this year. I learnt the importance of independence and solitude. And the importance of loving and nurturing myself. I learnt being gentle, kind, accepting and forgiving are not acts of weakness, but expressions of self-confidence, self-awareness and love. Instead of blaming myself for being so sensitive I became thankful that i have the ability to feel deeply in a world of cruelty that lacks empathy. You will always be able to sit and wonder about things that could have gone differently. But you can also trust in the fact that you have not missed out on what was meant for you. Your story might be unfolding differently than expected but that doesn’t mean it won’t be beautiful. Where you are meant to be, you will be in time, no matter your age or stage of life. I believe that life can be fruitful at both 16 and 60. Joy is timeless. Learning how to make the most of where you are does not have a deadline. A lot of this wouldn’t have been possible without the support of my audience and friends.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Being both a full-time college student while also trying to manage two very big social media platforms can be very overwhelming at times (most of the time) for me. But being a young adult is hard no matter how much we try to simplify our lives. Even when life is going well, our responsibilities never leave us. More importantly, we don’t get to leave them. People might think I’m just posting pictures, which in no doubt what these apps used to be for me, but not any longer. I want to use my social media and my personal brand to connect with my audience through my art and even my tweets sometimes. I appreciate that my followers have the ability to connect with me no matter what I post. The rarer you are the rarer the people are who share your perspective, and in this way the greater your success and the fewer people you can share it with. I’m currently in the process of making something with love to share with my followers that I know they will love and I am working with all my heart on.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three skills that were impactful in my journey are consistency, patience, and passion. The most important thing about your career path in life is ensuring that you are doing something that you love. It’s a scary and vulnerable thing for me to share my thoughts on social media. Since my growth on here it’s been difficult to be me at all times. People follow me for different reasons. But I am truly so grateful for everything right now it hurts my heart in the best way ever. I don’t know what I did to deserve all the incredible people and things in my life right now but I cannot stress how especially grateful I am. Most of this wouldn’t be possible without ppl thinking I’m cute and cool enough to follow on Instagram so thank you. I hope the more I grow the more I can do in return and try my best to somehow make a lil’ positive difference in the world. Whether that’s me being silly, relatable or inspiring. I promise to always be myself and be genuine about what matters the most to me and what I choose to share on here.
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed if not meditating I seek calmness in nature. Whether it’s in a forest or near a body of water, or just a walk, or maybe journaling. Those are my go-tos. When your world moves too fast and you lose yourself in the chaos, introduce yourself to each color of the sunset, feel the earth beneath your feet and thank the air that surrounds you with every breath. Find yourself in the appreciation of life.
