Meet Aaron Hayes

We recently connected with Aaron Hayes and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Aaron with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I feel like I developed my work ethic from my family. I come from a legacy of very hard workers. Teachers, entrepreneurs, health professionals, and detailed designers. It’s just in me. Sports also played a role in the development of my work ethic. Playing as a a collegiate athlete forces you to be competitive. To play at a high level you need to train hard. This is something that molded my mindset and in turn translated into everything I’ve done since. I can’t just do anything halfway it’s all or nothing. It’s my best or nothing at all.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I never know what to call myself because I wear so many hats.I know that I’m obsessed with starting something from nothing. I guess you might call that some type of creative, or developer.

When you build a foundation around something it starts to become its own being. You might not know what it is when you start, but it develops into something tangible. A thought, or an idea is a powerful thing and when you back it up with action it can come to life, literally into something you can see and that is truly amazing. We created a brand called V.Stella’Rex.

Our aim now is to create something timeless. This Avenue is difficult because it’s not the trendy route but structuring our focus to create something that can stand the test of time. Timeless is simple yet tasteful and that’s what we strive to be. To master this we have to have great focus and not look at what other people are doing in our field. We have to have a lifelong mindset which can be extremely difficult.

We’ve went from t-shirts to hoodies to track suits to cardigans to socks to hats to denim to eyewear and now leather goods. We’ve done so much, to bring all of this into a focus, we have to have almost like a tunnel vision mindset.

Things in the field of fashion change every day, but when you create something timeless, it can remain through those never ending ups and downs. Our focus is to create a strong brand that can transcend any product. We strive to make things easy for our customer. We feel this is what longevity is.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Love, resilience and patience or three qualities that one needs to be successful in anything. Love, because if you truly love what you are doing you’d do it every day for free and money is not the main focus. This gives you a super power mindset to keep going when things don’t work how you planned.

Resilience is needed because you will go through tough times and this quality will allow you to continue on your path through those times because there will be many tough times. Resilience helps builds character, through your mistakes, trials, errors, and all the disappointments that will come.

Patience is also needed because it allows you to develop knowledge on your journey. Knowledge comes from your mistakes. I tell people that want to start anything to fail quick! The more you fail the more you learn to never make the same mistakes.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
Everyone has played a big part in this journey whether they know it or not. Challenges continue to come and go. Emotions continue to, rise and fall but the “Keep Going” seeds from everyone along the way helps us to continue. Whether it’s a purchase, or an “I love this item” or “I loved your ad campaign” or it’s a “like” or a “positive comment” under a photo or just a positive word of encouragement. All of these things is what keeps a creative going and it means more then you know.
