Meet Aaron & Jennie Berger

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Aaron & Jennie Berger. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Aaron & Jennie below.

Aaron & Jennie, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
Being married and being two different types of creative individuals, we draw a lot of inspiration from each other. We’re consistently challenging ourselves with new ideas and design concepts. Many times our clients present us with an idea and trust us to design something completely unique to them. Having such a broad variety of projects always keeps our creativity flowing. We also draw inspiration from visiting places we love with cool atmospheres and eclectic vibes.

Creativity comes in waves, so when you are in a creative rhythm it is important to capitalize on it in the moment. When the flow isn’t there stay positive, refocus your energy and trust it will be back.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
High Vibe Collective is a husband + wife duo specializing in a variety of projects from custom one-of-a-kind furniture to interior space planning and design. Our eclectic, elevated style infuses a little extra life and personality into any space. We are based in Southern California and have been designing and building since 2019.

We first gained a passion for woodworking, making furniture out of our backyard for ourselves and friends. Our business has since grown into interior projects as well as high-end custom made furniture and home decor. The fulfillment you get from building something with your hands is very special. It’s refreshing to create something that you can touch and feel that didn’t exist before.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Resilience – Being a small business owner is difficult. You will face many unexpected challenges and obstacles along the way. The most important quality you could have is to never give up.

Adaptability –
The needs and demands of your business can often change overnight. The ability to quickly adapt to your customer’s needs is vital. It’s important to stay true to your ultimate vision or goal, but be open minded and flexible on how you get there.

Work ethic –
Everything revolves around a good work ethic, it takes a lot of discipline to own a business. Understanding your workflow and setting aside time to stay organized is important to success. Some entrepreneurs over work themselves into a burnout and some don’t put in the work it takes to succeed. It’s important to find your balance.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
Jennie’s father is a contractor/cabinet maker and has been the biggest mentor to us through this journey. The countless hours we’ve spent (and spend) on the phone working out problems and discussing our projects has given us so much confidence and knowledge throughout the years. We truly wouldn’t be where we are today without his guidance and support.
