Meet Aaron Thomas

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Aaron Thomas. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Aaron, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

I would say trial and error, that and mainly time – I’ve always felt highly self-aware so for me confidence was something I had to almost work at especially early on as a child, as I’ve grown into an adult I feel like my values and general ideas have help to cement my overall confidence and self-esteem + even then there’s still days where these aspects are constantly moving up or down, similar to life

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I started off my early days mostly focused on music, thanks to my parents, raised in Rochester, NewYork My roots originate from my legendary DJ parents “Sista Denise & Mista. Bill” who both notably ran the Rochester Reggae/Dancehall scene in the late 80’s & 90’s.

The early days of my journey I picked up DJing ,Producing ,Engineering & studied Accounting in Kent, Ohio. In my college scene I was known for abstract & genre-blending sounds and extremely diverse music taste. Even in my early days I always looked to combine my business insights & musical perspective to give the “Music Industry” as we know it a new life & look. To this day I still strive to achieve that.

After college, I was able to move to Tampa, Florida and expand my business connections while still pursing creative outlets, at this point I currently own 5 businesses, help a variety of other businesses with their financials and look to still expand the culture of both business / music

Most recently I’m proud to say I’ve become and Enrolled Agent (Tax specialized Accountant) and Planning to release new music this year as well as helping other creatives expand their content

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Right now I would say “Problem-Solving” is at the top of this list, such a simple sounding concept but obviously so layered, problem solving is so key in not only business but day to day personal life

Next, I would say communication, I haven’t always been the best at it but I feel as I’ve matured, I’ve begun to master it or at least use it more to my benefit rather than in my younger days it was seen more a deterrent

Last, I mentioned it a little earlier, but self awareness is also high up on this list, maybe not as rewarding as the other 2, but equally if not more valuable, I’ve always been realistic whether it be with my expectations or with my standards, and having that awareness allows for me to constantly reassess these expectations/standards and see where I meet them or where I fall short

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?

If I only had a decade left, I would move out of America ASAP, pursue a life more sustainable not heavily focused on monetary success and more focused on happiness and peace.
