We recently connected with Abagail Young and have shared our conversation below.
Abagail, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I was raised in an entrepreneur family, my dad started his own business very you, my grandpa also started his own company. I grew up watching them work really hard for the lifestyles they had when they came from nothing. Because they worked so hard, they provided a really good life for our families, and because they did so they had the flexibility to travel and do things instead of working for someone else and making money for them. Because of this I always knew I wanted to own my own business to allow that freedom and flexibility. I just didn’t know what I wanted to do, until I got to high school.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m Abie, the founder of Creative Co. Studios, a luxury branding photography and videography studio dedicated to helping women in business establish their authority and elevate their brand. Through high-quality imagery, b-roll videos, and strategic content creation, I empower entrepreneurs to show up confidently, connect with their audience, and build a brand that truly stands out.
What excites me most about my work is the transformation I get to witness. My clients come to me with a vision for their brand, and I help bring it to life in a way that feels authentic, elevated, and deeply aligned with their business. It’s not just about taking photos—it’s about telling their story, capturing the energy of their brand, and creating an experience that leaves them feeling empowered.
Right now, I’m expanding my offerings to include personalized outfit styling assistance and a styling guide to help my clients feel their absolute best in front of the camera. I’m also building out For the Creatives, a space for photographers and other creative entrepreneurs to learn, grow, and refine their craft through coaching, workshops, and masterclasses.
There’s nothing I love more than supporting women in business and helping them create content that attracts their dream clients. If you’re ready to elevate your brand and show up with confidence, I’d love to connect!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Networking & Relationship Building
The moment I started attending networking events was game-changing for my business. I didn’t even know brand photography was a thing until I stepped out of my comfort zone and went to an event by myself. That single decision shifted the entire direction of my career. Since then, networking has become the foundation of my business. I’ve photographed so many events that people have seen my work firsthand, and now, 80% of my business is word-of-mouth referral based. Some referrals come in months or even years later simply because I’ve made myself stand out as the go-to expert for branding and event coverage.
Advice: Put yourself in the right rooms before you feel ready. Go to events, schedule coffee chats, and build genuine relationships. The more you show up, the more opportunities will come your way. People want to work with those they trust, and trust is built over time.
Resilience & Adaptability
Going through my divorce was one of the most eye-opening experiences of my life. I had been so drained in my first marriage that I didn’t have the energy to truly invest in my business. When I was left with nothing, I made the decision that I would never allow someone else to put me in that position again—I would build something that was mine. Just one month after my ex-husband left—which, in hindsight, was the greatest gift I’ve ever been given—I made more money than I had in the entire previous year. That moment changed everything. I was able to take the energy I had been pouring into something that wasn’t serving me and channel it into my business. That push is what made photography my full-time career. Now, I have a thriving business and a supportive husband who cheers me on. That experience was the reset I didn’t know I needed, and it’s what led me to where I am today.
Advice: Life will throw things at you that you didn’t plan for. You have two choices: let it break you or let it fuel you. If you’re feeling stuck, ask yourself: How can I take control of this moment and make it work for me? Adaptability is what turns challenges into opportunities.
Confidence in My Expertise (Even When It Feels Uncertain)
The truth is, I don’t think anyone fully overcomes imposter syndrome. Even the most successful people still have moments of doubt. Social media makes it even harder, constantly showing highlight reels that make us feel like we’re behind. I second-guess myself all the time—Who am I, at just 23, to teach people how to create brand visuals that stand out? I have moments where I want to put myself out there more, but I hold back, convinced I have nothing important to say. The feeling of being an “expert” comes and goes. It’s a never-ending journey.
But what has helped me the most is surrounding myself with women who are also building something bigger than themselves. The relationships I’ve built through networking have been a game-changer. We support each other, lift each other up, and remind each other that we’re capable. That’s why I want to create a community for other photographers—to give them the same support that has been so impactful for me. And yet, I keep holding myself back because I don’t feel qualified enough to do it. Which is ironic, because that’s the exact thing I help my clients overcome—showing up confidently in their brand.
Advice: You don’t need permission to take up space. You don’t need a certain number of years in business or a “perfect” portfolio to have something valuable to share. No one ever feels 100% ready—you just have to start. The only way to build confidence is by doing.
Final Thoughts:
If you’re just starting out, focus on putting yourself in the right rooms, staying adaptable, and trusting that you’re enough. The more you lean into these things, the more doors will open for you. And if you ever find yourself questioning your worth, remember: The people who succeed aren’t the ones who never doubt themselves—they’re the ones who don’t let doubt stop them.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal client is a woman in business who is serious about elevating her brand and stepping into her next level. She’s already built something incredible, but she’s ready for more—more visibility, more authority, more impact. She knows that high-quality branding is the key to attracting her dream clients and positioning herself as the go-to expert in her industry.
She’s ambitious, driven, and passionate about what she does. She’s not just running a business; she’s building a legacy. She values professionalism but doesn’t take herself too seriously—she loves to have fun, collaborate, and create an experience that truly reflects her brand.
What makes her a perfect fit for Creative Co. Studios is that she understands the power of branding and is willing to invest in her growth. She’s not just looking for pretty pictures—she wants strategic, high-end visuals that tell her brand’s story in a way that connects and converts.
She might be launching something new, rebranding, or simply realizing that the outdated photos she’s been using no longer reflect the level she’s operating at. She’s ready to be seen, to feel confident in her visuals, and to work with someone who gets her vision and makes the process seamless and fun.
Most importantly, she trusts the process. She knows that branding is more than just a photoshoot—it’s an investment in how the world perceives her business. She’s ready to take that leap, and she wants a creative partner who can bring her vision to life in a way that feels luxurious, intentional, and completely her.
At the end of the day, my ideal client is someone who is ready to stand out, take up space, and own her brand with confidence. If that’s you, let’s make magic together. ✨
