We were lucky to catch up with Abioduni Martin recently and have shared our conversation below.
Abioduni, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
Ever since I can remember, I have had a great work ethic. I was always driven. My environment was pretty rough growing up, so making sure I worked hard to get out of my rough neighborhood in San Francisco was my number one priority. Whenever I put my mind to something I really wanted, I stopped at nothing to get it. It’s a superpower of mine; I can become extremely focused on a task, and nothing can distract me from my goals.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am the C.E.O of dew.com.co; we provide a wide range of services. We specialize in signage and solar photovoltaic installations. Our mission is to provide disadvantaged youth and adults the opportunity to learn about solar and signage. We help provide the proper training with our partnership with Cherry Street Energy on the solar side of things. We are engaged with the trades of emerging markets and aim to tap into the wealth of resources to help communities obtain great-paying trade careers in these emerging markets. I am excited to help usher in new careers in this ever-changing work landscape.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities that helped me on my journey are learning how to communicate effectively and to the point. The easier you can make a task or point more digestible to understand or do, the faster it can be applied to accomplish any task that involves a team. Number two, stay in the know, read, stay entuned with the world around you, and be on the cutting edge. Third, act quickly; you don’t have to have it all figured out; figure it out as you go.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am looking for financial partners; funding has been difficult to obtain. I have been in business for 10 years and have bootstrapped my business up until this point. I am looking to scale and know it takes capital to grow. I am also looking for social media influencers, video editors, and SEO consultants.
