Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Abrielle Smith . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Abrielle , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
This is a self reflecting question that I never actually asked myself. Well, my resilience came from me being put in uncomfortable and unfortunate situations throughout my whole life, I always used to be like “God, why I always have to fight and go through obstacles?”. Like, it gets frustrating being the strong one. But to directly answer your question, my resilience came from my life playing out and me choosing how I wanted to live it out. God gave me these circumstances because it was all about my purpose. My story in each phase of my life has helped so many people become aware and just find hope and keep going. I thank God for allowing me to experience all of the things I did. Even the things that took me years to heal from. Because no one can take my testimony from me and not benefit from it.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Well what I do is kind of hard to just narrow it down to something in specific. But I am a model, soon to be a psychology major, a mom, I’m honestly still growing and all I want to do is to be a judge, author, and public speaker.
Something new? My children’s book will be published soon. I would just say be on the look out. Also working on a nonprofit project just for young women, women in general who needs a village to grow and become their best.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three things that got me through life that were very resource were allowing myself to be vulnerable, don’t feel responsible for others emotional baggage, and when God is calling you… You better answer!
Advice I would give to others is to always put yourself first and be willing to learn something new. And when someone tells you, you aren’t capable of something. Just know that’s Satan in human form and Satan is always lying. So whatever you do and someone says you can’t, just know that’s your sign from God to do it. People also tend to see the greatness in us before we do so they try to discourage you so you won’t tap into it. Be relentless and it’s okay to fail, failure is a step closer to reaching the purpose.
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
I really didn’t know what question to choose but I feel this one is something I deal with everyday, honestly. So when I’m overwhelmed, I honestly just break it down in increments. I do one thing at a time and eventually you’ll end up tackling everything, Do what I can handle in the moment and I give myself grace. It can be done, just can’t carry everything at once. So I just break down my situation and have multiple solutions for each increment. I treat my problems or stress as a baby. You can only do one thing at a time to make that baby stop crying, eventually you’ll have a satisfied baby.
