Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ace Diosa. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ace, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I developed my confidence and self esteem through self love. When I was younger I absorbed everything the world through at me, the good and the bad. The bad left me feeling less than at times, but as I grew older I realized the bad was helping me delevop my character, and not so much as defining who I am as a whole. That realization changed my views and beliefs within my self. Others perception isn’t who I am. I am who I say I am, I am what I feel I am, I am the good I put into the world. I am Ace Diosa.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Sneak peak into my life… I didn’t grow up with much, my mom fall sick a lot so we moved around often but she did the best she could as a mother of 6 children. I don’t regret anything I’ve been through in life, those obstacles helped me grow into the person I am today. I believe anything negative can be turned into positivity, but It’s up to us to transform it.
Fast forward till today… I travel often for work (modeling and acting) and sometimes it’s hard to balance my personal life with that; luckily I have people in my life that supports me and encourage me to continue following my dreams. I believe health is wealth, that being said I do take mental health days to reset. My advice to all creatives , don’t miss the current moment you’re in because you’re thinking of what’s next, be present and absorb that moment fully. Give yourself grace.
What does the future hold…. I’m working on a short series of my life; it is currently untitled but I will be posting updates about it soon. Teaser: it will be a series full of action, drama, and suspense, my life is a mix of showtime, lifetime, and soap opera. Most would compared it to a rollercoaster, so I want to give people a real look at the ride this far. Follow me @Acediosa.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Communication is key, learning how to communicate is essential in life. I have Soical anxiety but working on my communication helped with that. I use to be in crowed rooms and find an area where there weren’t many people and stand alone, in my own world with a smile on my face, trying to hide the fact my heart was beating out my chest. I thought that would get me through the night without out anyone bothering me, but I was mistaking, that only made people come and speak. Knowing how to navigate in conversations will give you a different confidence. Now I go into room and my energy speaks for me.
Self love is the best love. I use to allow people thoughts of me affect how I saw myself, thought I needed to change to be great. Once I blocked out all negative people, energy, thoughts, & feelings that all changed. Loving yourself is not only the best love in my opinion it also give others guidelines of how to treat you. What you feel on the inside is the energy others feel when they’re around you. Be unapologetically you, it’s an amazing feeling.
Thoughts without action is merely a dream. When people say follow your dreams they do not mean on social media. Following your dreams is writing your thoughts down, getting them out of your head, planning, testing, executing even in the smallest of ways. Be intentional with everything, and never give up.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’m always looking for people to work with, models, photographers, make up artist, hair stylist, fashion stylist, clothing brands, makeup brands, anyone who makes products. I think coming together as creatives to show the world our talents is always a step closer to achieving our dreams/ goals. Never stop creating, you may not notice yet, but people are watching and one day all your hard work will pay off.
