Meet Adama Jay

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Adama Jay. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Adama below.

Hi Adama , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

It comes from watching my father.

Before he retired, I had the privilege of witnessing, day after day, what true dedication looked like. My father approached his work with an unwavering sense of pride, responsibility, and integrity. It didn’t matter if he was tired or if the job was tough—he showed up. Fully. Consistently. With quiet strength and excellence.

He never needed to preach about discipline or perseverance—his actions spoke louder than any words could. I watched him navigate long hours and challenges with grace and humility, always putting his best into everything he did. That steady example shaped me in ways I’m still realizing.

Now, as I run my own business, I carry his work ethic with me. It’s in the early mornings, the attention to every detail, the promise to deliver more than expected. It’s in how I treat my clients, how I approach my craft, and how I define success—not just by the outcome, but by the integrity behind it.

My father’s legacy lives in my work every day. And even though he’s now retired, the lessons he taught me through his actions continue to guide and inspire me in everything I do.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

As the founder and lead designer of a bespoke floral studio, I create artful floral experiences that go far beyond simply arranging flowers—I tell stories through nature’s most beautiful medium. Our studio specializes in luxury weddings, events, and corporate floral design, with each piece thoughtfully crafted to reflect the unique personality, emotion, or vision behind the moment. No two arrangements are ever the same, because no two stories are ever alike.

What excites me most is the transformation—watching how blooms, textures, and color palettes can turn a space into an unforgettable memory. Flowers have this incredible ability to stir emotion, spark conversation, and make people feel something. To be able to harness that and create beauty with purpose is a privilege I never take for granted.

What sets our brand apart is our commitment to intentional design, elevated service, and storytelling. We don’t just design florals—we design atmosphere, moments, and meaning. I work closely with each client to understand their aesthetic, their energy, and their story, translating that into a floral language that feels deeply personal and entirely one-of-a-kind.

I want people to know that what we offer is not just flowers, but a full sensory and emotional experience. Our clients value artistry, individuality, and excellence—and that’s exactly what we deliver with every petal and every stem.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, three qualities have been absolutely pivotal in shaping my journey: creative vision, resilience, and relationship-building.

Creative vision has been the heartbeat of everything I do. In the floral world—especially in the bespoke space—your ability to see beyond the bloom and design with story, emotion, and intention is everything. It’s not just about making things “pretty”; it’s about creating experiences that move people. My advice to those early in their journey is to protect and nurture your creativity. Study art, fashion, architecture, nature—anything that sparks your imagination—and let that inspire your design language. Don’t just follow trends—develop your own voice.

Resilience has been equally essential. Entrepreneurship is beautiful, but it’s also demanding and unpredictable. There are high seasons and quiet ones, moments of doubt, and unexpected obstacles. What keeps me going was my belief in the long game, and my ability to adapt, reimagine, and keep showing up. My advice: embrace the discomfort of growth. Don’t wait for perfect conditions—start, stumble, learn, and keep going. Your consistency will take you further than perfection ever could.

Lastly, relationship-building has been a game changer. This is a people-first industry. Whether it’s clients, vendors, venues, or your own team, the way you build trust, communicate, and collaborate is key. People don’t just remember the flowers—they remember how you made them feel. For those starting out: take the time to truly connect. Show up with integrity, listen deeply, and deliver more than you promise. That’s how you build not just a business—but a reputation.

Each of these traits has helped shape the foundation of my brand. They didn’t happen overnight, but with intention and care, they’ve become second nature—and they’re what I encourage every creative entrepreneur to cultivate early and often.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Yes, I am very open to partnering and collaborating—especially with individuals and businesses that align with our values around creativity, excellence, and elevated client experiences.

Right now, I’m particularly interested in building partnerships with boutique hotels, luxury residential communities, corporate offices, and art-driven spaces that are looking to enhance their environments with thoughtful, custom floral design. Whether it’s weekly floral subscriptions, statement lobby arrangements, or curated experiences for residents and clients, we offer designs that are not only beautiful but truly intentional.

I also enjoy collaborating with event planners, interior designers, and brand creatives who want to add a unique floral element to their activations, client events, or styled spaces.

If someone is reading this and feels like there’s a natural synergy, I’d absolutely love to connect. The best way to reach out is through my website or directly by email. I’m always excited to explore opportunities that feel aligned and purposeful.
