We recently connected with Addy Gregurich and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Addy , so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
Self care is my business! Sometimes I forget that I need some TLC, as well. No matter what you do for self care, there are so many benefits. So good for your mental, physical, financial and spiritual health. I always make time for myself. Even if it’s 5 minutes, no matter what it is, I always make sure that I have a little “me time”. I go for walks outside, workout, listen to a podcast, cook dinner with my husband, or just breathe for a minute in silence. One minute of breathing can do so much for your mental health!
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m a licensed esthetician and small business owner of my spa Keep Breathing Spa LLC. I have been licensed since 2016 and opened my business in 2020. I offer skin care services including facials, waxing, chemical peels, body scrubs etc. My most popular services are Brazilian waxes and facials. I always have Facebook specials going, different ones each month; spa packages, discounts or free services!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
On my journey, I realized it’s not going to happen unless I really want it. My drive, passion and excitement about opening my own business is what really helped me get where I am today. Put it all out there and it is always so worth it in the end. One thing that was hard for me to accept was that you have to spend money to make money. It really is always worth it.
Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
Right now, I want to reach new clients. I have amazing, loyal clients who I see at least once a month if not more, and I want to keep growing. I love when my clients leave relaxed, stress free and excited to come back next time. Social media has helped me so much to reach a new wave of clients, but word of mouth is honestly what has gotten me where I am today. So every conversation with a neighbor, friend or colleague helps!
