We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Adeiza Usman. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Adeiza below.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My journey started in Lagos, Nigeria, where creativity was part of everyday life — from the colors of the streets to the flavor in every meal. After moving to Georgia, I began to explore two passions that really define who I am today: food and photography.
Professionally, I’m a chef at South City Kitchen in Alpharetta, where I focus on bringing bold, soulful Nigerian flavors into Southern cuisine. I love blending cultures through food — creating dishes that tell a story and spark conversation. What excites me most is seeing people experience something new, something that connects them to a different part of the world through taste.
Outside the kitchen, I’m also a photographer. My work is deeply personal and emotional — I use it as a form of self-expression, exploring themes like reflection, growth, and the human experience. I’m currently working on my first photography exhibition titled ‘Welcome Into My Abyss,’ which captures the raw emotions of self-discovery and healing.
What makes my journey special is that everything I do — whether cooking or creating art — comes from a place of authenticity. I’m always looking for new ways to tell stories that feel honest and inspiring. Right now, I’m focused on growing both sides of my craft — continuing to elevate my skills as a chef while preparing to share my first exhibition with the world.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Yes, I’m always open to collaborating — I truly believe the best ideas come from connection and shared creativity.
On the culinary side, I’m looking to partner with chefs, restaurants, or brands that are passionate about culture, fusion, and storytelling through food. I love projects that push boundaries — whether it’s developing new dishes, hosting pop-up experiences, or creating something that brings Nigerian and Southern flavors together in fresh ways.
On the creative side, I’m open to working with other artists, photographers, models, and brands that value emotion and authenticity in visual storytelling. I enjoy collaborating on projects that dive into deeper themes like identity, growth, and human connection.
Anyone interested in collaborating can connect with me on Instagram @_mayormo or email [email protected] — I’m always down to talk ideas and build something meaningful together.
