Meet Aden Webb

We recently connected with Aden Webb and have shared our conversation below.

Aden , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
As early as I can remember, my dad instilled in me the importance of good work ethic. My entire life he worked constantly to make sure we were provided for. He wanted me to have opportunities that he didn’t have growing up, and if that meant putting extra hours at work then that’s what he did. So as an adult, I remember him putting in extra time when it matteredc and I try to do that to live up to his legacy. He was definitely the hardest working man anyone would have ever met.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am a musician, which means I don’t have your typical 9 to 5 job. I get to entertain audiences all over the place, at different venues. I’m the lead singer and rythm guitarist of our 5 piece country rock band. It is a weird feeling to actually get to chase your dreams as your full time job, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Being able to meet so many new people every week, bring them some joy in the form of music, and just get to be a small part of someone’s week is just amazing. We are working on a full original album that should be coming out around the end of the year, and have a single or two coming out before then also. We always have new events coming up every week, you can find on our website www.adenwebb.com.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
You have to know how to have great people skills in order to be in the music field. Whether it be contacting venue owners, meeting concert goers, or hanging out with the other musicians at the show. Being sociable is very important. It’s also important to have a good work ethic, and be a reliable band member and co worker. It takes a lot of practice in order for a band to sound professional. Everyone has to be responsible for their own parts, and you want to be able to be counted on to know your role and do it right.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
When I was in middle school, I told my parents I wanted to learn to play the guitar. I had seen my brother playing one as I was growing up, and wanted to be like him. So when I was in middle school they signed me up for guitar lessons. If it hadn’t been for them doing that, I can confidently say that I would not be playing music for a living. I fell in love with it as soon as I started playing, and never wanted to put it down. I never would have imagined it would have taken me this far though. I am forever grateful to them for letting me chase my dreams without even questioning it.
