Meet Adeniyi Babajide

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Adeniyi Babajide. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Adeniyi, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

In the dynamic world of Product Management, resilience isn’t just a desirable trait—you have to have it or have it. My resilience stems from a combination of personal experiences, professional challenges, and a commitment to continuous growth.

Early in my career, I was assigned to lead a high-stakes project with tight deadlines and limited resources. The pressure was immense, and initial setbacks threatened the project’s success. Instead of viewing these obstacles as insurmountable, I chose to see them as opportunities to innovate and get things done regardless of the obstacle. One of the skill I have developed over time is getting things done regardless of who is watching and who is not. This experience taught me that resilience is built through facing adversity head-on and transforming it into a catalyst for growth.

Beyond the professional realm, I engage in personal practices that bolster my resilience. Regular exercise, growth mindset materials and mindfulness meditation – I still struggle with this, and setting aside time for hobbies help me maintain a balanced and healthy mindset. These activities provide a necessary respite from work-related stress and recharge my mental and emotional batteries, ensuring that I can approach each new challenge with renewed energy and a clear perspective.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My journey as a startup founder and seasoned product manager has been driven by a passion for creating impactful solutions across diverse industries such as regtech, real estate, fintech, Edtech, and healthcare.

Currently, I serve as a Senior Product Manager at Youverify, a global regtech startup renowned for leveraging artificial intelligence to develop cutting-edge compliance solutions for highly regulated industries. In this role, I have had the opportunity to lead transformative projects like a customizable workflow compliance tool and an AI-powered customer risk intelligence solution. These initiatives not only streamlined operations for our clients but also set new standards in regulatory technology.

My work has garnered international recognition, earning mentions from industry giants like Google and Meta, as well as esteemed organizations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Media outlets including Forbes, CNN, and Yahoo Finance have also highlighted our contributions, underscoring the global impact of our solutions.

Beyond my pivotal role at Youverify, I am the visionary behind PropPal, a real estate technology company aimed at democratizing property investment through fractional ownership.

In the realm of education technology, I am making significant strides with BeyondTheory (https://www.beyondtheory.co/), an Edtech startup designed to bridge the gap between traditional tech education and practical industry skills. BeyondTheory offers project-based learning tailored for tech professionals, equipping them with real-world experience that aligns with the dynamic demands of today’s market. This initiative not only enhances the skill sets of tech professionals but also ensures they are well-prepared to tackle the challenges of a rapidly changing industry.

A Data-Driven Leader with a Strategic Vision
My approach is deeply rooted in data and strategy, enabling me to bridge technical and business objectives effectively.

Making a Tangible Impact
For me, the core of my professional journey lies in making a tangible impact and empowering others to do the same. My dedication to creating solutions that address real-world problems reflects my commitment to fostering positive change across various sectors.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

In my journey, three qualities have been pivotal to my success: common sense, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Common Sense
Common sense serves as the bedrock for making practical and sound decisions in the fast-paced world. It helps me evaluate situations realistically, prioritize tasks effectively, and communicate clearly with diverse teams. It enables me to translate complex technical requirements into actionable business strategies, ensuring that both sides are aligned and working towards common goals.

Critical Thinking
Critical thinking is essential for dissecting intricate problems, identifying underlying issues, and developing solutions. It allows me to approach challenges with an open mind, consider multiple perspectives, and make informed decisions.

Problem Solving – Always Figure It Out
Problem-solving goes beyond addressing immediate issues; it involves creating innovative solutions that have long-term benefits.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I am passionate about collaborating with changemakers around the world through BeyondTheory to address the global challenges we are tackling. The issues we are solving are universal, and to effectively scale our program and reach a broader audience, we need diverse partnerships and support.

Additionally, we are actively seeking partnerships with tech startups to place our talented fellows after their fellowship programs. This collaboration will not only reinforce their practical experience but also enhance their professional growth, creating a strong bridge between education and industry.

I am open to collaborating on innovative products and ventures that aim to solve pressing global problems, whether within established economies or emerging markets. By working together, we can develop impactful solutions and drive meaningful change across various sectors.
