We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Adina Mullen. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Adina below.
Adina, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
To keep my creativity alive in the kitchen, I draw inspiration from a variety of sources, such as my travels, the changing seasons, and my ongoing exploration of new ingredients. I approach cooking and baking as a form of artistic expression, where each dish is a blank canvas. Experimenting with flavors, textures, and techniques allows me to push boundaries and discover new possibilities. I also love blending diverse cultural influences, which results in unique fusion recipes that are both exciting and accessible. Whether it’s a new twist on a classic dish or inventing something entirely new, I stay engaged by embracing spontaneity and continuously challenging myself to innovate.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
As a chef, baker, and creator of plant-based recipes, my work is all about celebrating flavor and diversity through food. I specialize in crafting unique, globally-inspired dishes that are not only delicious but also promote healthier, more sustainable eating. What excites me most is the opportunity to transform everyday ingredients into something extraordinary, whether it’s creating a decadent dessert or a savory main course. My approach is all about using fresh, seasonal ingredients to create vibrant, nutrient-dense meals that nourish the body and delight the senses. At the heart of my brand is a passion for inclusivity—my recipes are designed to inspire everyone, no matter their dietary preferences, to embrace plant-based cooking. Food is a way to connect people, cultures, and stories, and that’s what makes it so special to me.
I’m thrilled to share that my cookbook, Vegan Flavors of the World, is now available! You can grab a copy here: https://www.amazon.com/DP/B0DJYN6Y7V.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, three qualities that were most impactful in my journey are creativity, openness, and a commitment to health. Creativity has been essential in reimagining traditional dishes and creating exciting plant-based meals that inspire others. Openness has allowed me to embrace new ingredients, techniques, and diverse culinary influences, making my cooking dynamic and ever-evolving. Most importantly, my commitment to health—specifically finding ways to enjoy delicious meals without relying on animal-sourced foods—has shaped both my cooking and my approach to wellness.
For those early in their journey, my advice is to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. Cultivate curiosity by seeking new experiences and inspiration, and make sure to stay disciplined in your approach. Establishing a solid routine and staying dedicated will keep you focused on perfecting your techniques. Above all, be patient with yourself—growth is a gradual process, but with persistence, you’ll continue to refine your skills, sharpen your palate, and elevate your craft in the kitchen.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Whether you’re a fellow chef, a wellness influencer, a sustainable product brand, or someone in the food industry, I’m open to creating meaningful partnerships that inspire and empower others.
