We recently connected with Admire Dorsey and have shared our conversation below.

Admire, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?

I have learned when I am the only one that looks like me in the room I have learned I need to work twice not even twice but a thousand times harder then the room. Because i want to proof i can be better at what i do then everyone else and try to be as different but as cohesive as everyone else.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am an artist i have been making music for like two years now but i have always been in love with music since i was born. I love making music because some times i might be scared to say out loud i can just say it in the music. I am so putting out my second album partywithadmire out November 14th and i am really excited for that.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The three qualities and skills first i would say im very efficient and i give great quality fast my second i would say my creative and my third i would say i put faith first.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

The person that has been the most effective with my challenges in music is probably one of my best friends hawa she has recorded most of my music videos and heard demos of songs she has seen me at my lowest with music and she is soooo on it and on business it picks me up.
