We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Adrian Garcia. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Adrian below.
Adrian, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I’ve lived in three countries and studied at three universities, each with its own language and culture. Constantly adapting to new environments taught me how to face challenges, stay flexible, and keep moving forward. As a physical therapist, that journey shaped my ability to connect with others and help them through their own recovery. Resilience, for me, is about embracing change and growing through it.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
The human body has an incredible ability to heal—and I’m passionate about supporting that process. As a licensed physical therapist, I’ve helped people recover strength, confidence, and independence across many healthcare settings, from ICU to home care.
Today, I manage multiple Stretch Zone locations in South Florida, where we use practitioner-assisted stretching to help clients move and feel better. It’s amazing to see how consistent sessions can restore not only mobility, but also energy and a renewed sense of vitality.
Many clients arrive feeling older than they are—stiff, tired, and low on energy. But with the right approach, they start to move freely again and feel like themselves.
We’re also working to expand into underserved communities and bring wellness tools to more people.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Adaptability – Life and career rarely go as planned. Being able to adapt—to new cultures, systems, or unexpected challenges—was key for me. I encourage others to embrace change, stay curious, and see discomfort as a sign of growth.
Empathy – Especially in healthcare and service-based work, understanding people on a deeper level makes all the difference. Learn to listen, connect, and put yourself in your client’s shoes—this builds trust and transforms your impact.
Consistent Discipline – Success doesn’t come from bursts of intensity—it comes from steady, consistent action over time. Whether you’re building a business or a skill, daily discipline is what builds momentum and results.
My advice: focus on growing as a person, not just as a professional. The more grounded and adaptable you are, the more valuable you’ll be—wherever life takes you.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
I owe a lot to my family, especially my parents, who taught me the value of perseverance and hard work from a young age. Their support gave me the courage to start over in a new country and keep going when things got tough. I’ve also been inspired by the many mentors, colleagues, and even patients I’ve met along the way—each one has taught me something valuable about resilience, empathy, and growth.
