We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Adrian Suarez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Adrian below.
Hi Adrian, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
I’ve learned to overcome imposter syndrome by reframing how I see it. Instead of treating it as a sign that I don’t belong, I try to see it as proof that I’m growing and pushing into new territory. I remind myself that it’s normal to feel uncomfortable when you’re stretching your skills, and that doesn’t mean I’m unqualified, it means I’m learning.
Another thing that helped was keeping track of small wins. Looking back at concrete results, projects I finished, challenges I solved, or positive feedback I received, helped ground me in facts instead of self-doubt.
And finally, I’ve learned to talk about it. Opening up to peers and mentors showed me that many people feel the same way, even those I look up to. That made me realize it’s not about being “perfect,” it’s about continuing to show up, learn, and add value.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m the founder of Aicon Solar, where we focus on helping homeowners and businesses transition to clean, renewable energy. What excites me most about this work is that every system we design and install has a real impact, lowering energy costs, increasing independence, and contributing to a more sustainable future.
What makes Aicon Solar special is the way we combine high-quality technology with a personalized approach. We work with trusted brands to make sure our clients get reliable systems built to last. But beyond the equipment, it’s really about trust and education, helping people feel confident in their investment and in the difference they are making for their family and community.
Right now, we’re focused on expanding our reach and bringing more options to homeowners, whether that’s advanced battery storage solutions, new panel technology, or making solar more accessible through financing and innovative programs. Our goal is to keep pushing the clean energy movement forward in California and beyond.
At the heart of it, Aicon Solar isn’t just about installing panels, it’s about empowering people with energy freedom, sustainability, and peace of mind. That’s the legacy I want our brand to carry.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I’d say the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been resilience, adaptability, and relationship-building.
Resilience has been essential. Building a business in clean energy comes with challenges; changing policies, supply chain issues, shifting customer expectations. What made the difference was learning how to keep moving forward even when things didn’t go as planned. My advice for those starting out: don’t see setbacks as failures, see them as lessons.
Adaptability has also been key. The solar industry moves fast, and technology is always evolving. Being willing to learn, pivot, and stay open to new solutions has helped us stay ahead and provide real value to customers. For someone early in their journey, I’d recommend staying curious, reading widely, and never assuming you know it all, because the landscape will keep changing.
Finally, relationship-building has probably been the most rewarding skill. At the end of the day, this isn’t just about panels or batteries, it’s about people. Building trust with clients, partners, and the team has been what sustains the business long-term. My advice: take the time to listen, be genuine, be honest, and invest in those relationships, because they’re the foundation of growth.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was instilling a strong work ethic and solid values from an early age. They taught me that nothing worthwhile comes without effort, and that consistency and discipline matter more than shortcuts. Alongside that, they grounded me in principles from the Bible, which gave me a foundation not just for how I work, but for how I live, treating people with respect, being honest, and staying true to my commitments.
That combination of hard work and values has guided me through every stage of my journey. It’s what keeps me steady when things get tough, and it’s also what shapes the way I run my business and build relationships today.
