We were lucky to catch up with Adriana Martinez Grau recently and have shared our conversation below.
Adriana, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I realized my purpose when I started making changes in my own home and helping some friends improve theirs with simple, practical advice. At first, it felt more like a hobby than a career, but over time, I discovered how much joy and impact these transformations brought. That’s when I knew design was more than just decoration; it was my way of helping people create spaces where they truly feel at home.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m the founder of Grau Studio, an interior design company based in Dallas, Texas. What began as a personal passion, has grown into a full business focused on transforming houses into homes that truly reflect the people who live in them.
What excites me most about design is the impact it has on everyday life. A well-designed space can completely transform how someone feels at home, bringing comfort, functionality, and inspiration all at once. At Grau Studio, we specialize in combining aesthetics with practicality, making sure that every project not only looks beautiful but also works for the client’s lifestyle.
Right now, we’re focusing on expanding our services in Dallas, especially with homeowners who are looking for complete makeovers—from full paint and resurfacing to custom interiors and styling. We also love sharing design inspiration and trends through our social media, where we connect with people who want fresh ideas to bring into their own homes.
What I’d like readers to know is that design doesn’t have to feel intimidating or inaccessible. At Grau Studio, our mission is to make the process enjoyable and collaborative, so every client feels proud of their space and excited to live in it.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three qualities that shaped my journey are: creativity, to envision new possibilities for every space; communication, to truly listen and understand clients; and adaptability, to solve challenges along the way.
My advice for beginners is simple: practice your creativity daily, develop empathy by listening carefully, and embrace challenges as opportunities to grow.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
The people who have helped me the most have undoubtedly been my family. They believed in my ideas when I was just experimenting with my own home and encouraged me to keep going. Their support and faith in me gave me the confidence to turn my passion into a real business.
