We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Adryelle a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Adryelle, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
I used to not be very optimistic. When I was a teen I was actually pretty pessimistic. I also watched alot of horror films. Nothing against horror films but this begins my story. I noticed how my thoughts were when I watched or read certain things and I decided I was going to cut out everything that causes fear. Social media applies as well. My mind got healthier, I started to not be so afraid anymore. When you decrease certain voices in your life, you increase building up the voices that actually matter. You can’t control your negative thoughts but you can replace them with something positive. There are two ways to look at something, or rather, “frame” something. You can frame things in a positive light or a negative light. It’s a choice that you can make. I learned to make that choice, to not look at or feed into the things that cause pessimism. Also when you are focused on truth and not lies, you are better off. There is something called catastrophic thinking…it’s imaging the worst case scenario. We can all think of the worst case scenario in any situation, but it usually never happens. Pay attention to reality, not what you imagine. Reality is usually better than what is in our minds sometimes. My faith has helps me with my optimism, by focusing on what is good and true and right and not lies….my mind changed for the better.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a music producer and songwriter, music instructor, visual artist and entrepreneur. I release music under the artist “adryelle”. It is dubbed ethereal synthpop with a nostalgic retro twist. Imagine if you were walking down a wooded pine forest and you stumbled apon an 80’s retro arcade while the tree’s sang like a choir. :-). I also founded a business called “Soundbird Music” to help women and girls learn audio production and songwriting. We have some courses coming out soon. I love producing other artists and working with them to bring out the sound they envision. My music is also a big passion because it tells stories and helps encourage others and bring hope to others. Music has the ability to pierce walls, and break down barriers and bring people together. It also can speak a language that mear words may not be effective at. Hearts can be touched and healing can happen with just one song.
I just released a song with Orlando EDM artist “Karen Juli” called “Fallen Love’. We have a music video coming out soon. The song is available to listen on Spotify and Apple, or wherever you stream music. It is a story about two friends in the 1980’s who lose touch over the years because of a disagreement but they forgive each other and come back together years later. It is an inspiring story of how friendships can be mended and forgiveness is possible.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three skills would be: Music Production, Songwriting, and Brand Development. I am currently creating a course with “Soundbird Music” right now that teaches on these three skills. It should be out early 2026. My advice would be to learn as much as you can from other people who have already been successful in these areas. You can never stop learning! Invest in yourself and put the work in. You will fail time and time again but the key is to get back up. Make mistakes, have fun!

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
Julia Cameron’s The Artists Way has been hugely impactful in my development as an artist. It has given me tools to use to constantly be inspired. Morning Pages is a tool i’ve used time and time again to capture song ideas and get started in my writing. I highly recommend this book if you want to write more songs, or gather more ideas.
