Meet Aesha Tahir

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Aesha Tahir. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Aesha below.

Aesha, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I have always had some natural resilience within me, but the majority of it has been developed through years of facing and overcoming challenging business hurdles. Taking risks and stepping out of my comfort zone has been a defining trait in my career. I am constantly on the lookout for new opportunities and challenges, never content with the status quo. While many may see obstacles, I see potential systems and strategies to tackle problems head-on.

Launching a business can be compared to running a marathon. From beginning to end, it involves facing setbacks, overcoming challenges, and pushing one’s limits. The path is rife with obstacles, and the struggle is an inescapable part of the journey. For entrepreneurs, it is crucial to change the way setbacks are perceived and view them as opportunities for growth and advancement, rather than threats to be avoided. This shift in mindset, like any worthwhile endeavor, doesn’t happen overnight. It requires consistent practice.

The challenges faced in entrepreneurship can be likened to the discipline of going to the gym. It takes time and determination. Just as one starts by lifting lighter weights and gradually builds strength, I too started by overcoming smaller obstacles in my entrepreneurial journey. With time, my mental resilience and problem-solving abilities grew stronger, steadily progressing to tackle more significant challenges and make important decisions. I became better equipped to handle setbacks such as marketing strategies, audience building, hiring, and obtaining capital.

While talent, knowledge, skills, and experience certainly contribute to success, it is often the mental resilience that ultimately allows entrepreneurs to navigate the journey successfully. Having the ability to overcome challenges, bounce back from failures, and maintain a positive mindset is a fundamental aspect of enduring the entrepreneurial journey and emerging unscathed.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
As the Founder & CEO of Tone and Strengthen Wellness, a full-service wellness consulting firm, I offer a range of in-person and virtual workshops, coaching, and training programs to help organizations and non-profits prioritize employee wellness.

My enterprise specializes in providing customized solutions that cater to the unique needs of mid to large-scale corporations and non-profits. Tone and Strengthen Wellness services improve employee productivity, reduce healthcare costs, and promote a culture of well-being.

My programs extend from one-on-one coaching sessions to group workshops and wellness training programs. These programs focus on four major dimensions of the wellness wheel, physical, emotional, social, and occupational wellness. I work closely with my clients to understand their goals and develop personalized strategies that deliver measurable results.

To me, entrepreneurship means having a bigger impact on the community. As an entrepreneur my primary motivation is to give back to society and make a positive difference in people’s lives. I’ve always been passionate about health and wellness, and I firmly believe that chronic health conditions are ongoing social problems that require attention.

Approximately 1.71 billion people have musculoskeletal conditions worldwide and these diseases are the leading contributor to disability worldwide, with low back pain being the single leading cause of disability in 160 countries.

Having experienced musculoskeletal issues due to sedentary work as an ex-corporate employee, I know firsthand the importance of exercise and proper nutrition for physical health and mental well-being. I wanted to help others in the corporate world who face similar challenges, which led me to start my own business.

My company focuses on promoting healthy lifestyle choices and offering solutions to organizations to address these issues. Through my business, I aim to educate people about the significance of proper nutrition, regular exercise, sleep hygiene, positive psychology, and overall wellness. I provide them with the tools and resources they need to achieve their health goals. Ultimately, my goal is to make a positive impact on individuals, organizations, and families and contribute to a healthier and happier community.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three impactful qualities are curiosity, efficiency, and discipline.

My curiosity has led me to many new oppurtunities. It has helped me identifying the low-hanging fruit, identify untapped opportunities, refine my business strategies, and innovate. Careful time management to yield the most efficient results is another skill that has lead to progress. Lastly, maintaining discipline and consistently confronting the same challenges day after day, regardless of slow progress, has proven to be a crucial factor in achieving business success.

The truth about becoming successful in business is your mindset. To succeed, you need to have a strong and positive mindset, the ability to think critically and creatively, and the determination to overcome any obstacles that come your way. You need to be willing to take risks, learn from your mistakes (there will be many), and constantly adapt to changing circumstances. While there may be some tips and tricks that can help you along the way, ultimately it is your mindset and determination that will decide your success in business. Focus on developing these qualities within yourself, and the rest will follow.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am seeking to collaborate with healthcare professionals to broaden the scope of my consulting services. By combining my expertise and experience with that of healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurses, and psychologists, I aim to provide organizations with a more comprehensive and holistic approach to wellness. Together, we can create solutions that address the diverse needs of individuals and enhance their overall well-being. I’m currently looking for healthcare professionals to be guests on my podcasts as well.
