Meet Aisha Makara

We recently connected with Aisha Makara and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Aisha, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

When I was a child I like to go to explore. And i went a lot alone to see new places around my village where i grow up. And many times other kids wanted to go with me on discovery and i was the boss of them. I used to say to them if you are going to cry i will leave alone here and nobody will come to save you. Or I said i will not take you next time with me. Because many times kids cried. They needed to eat and they felt scared and i needed to calm them down. Since then I learned I am confident and i have a great self-esteem. At school i was a leader of the class for many years in the road. I had a lot of responsibilities and I was leader of Volleyball team and my tourist adventure team leader. I had confident not take this roles and lead them. And i had always ideas to create different ways to make things happen. Anyway, to be confident it’s a skill and we get to practice it for years. I know how to lead myself when i lead people sometimes i dont have patience to do it, I remember when i was a kid i didnt have patience to hang out with kids i did a lot by myself and i learned i can do many things by myself. To be part of the community its great and for me to be a leader it’s easy i can do a lot and i can do work for everyone. Just one day i feel it’s enough and when i communicate it and say you get to do it to someone and they dont do it i do it for them. And they I used to it. And they become lazy. And i get tired of it. This is why I dont like to be part of the community because people like to talk a lot and do very little i dont like to talk i like to do things and think later why i did what i did. This is why i went alone to travel around Russia, lather Central Asia, and later, Norway learned Norwegian and later to Portugal and world and moved to usa to Florida alone. I like to do things alone. Yes its not easy and its easy for me. I feel more confident when i am alone and do my things then when i am with someone and that person has a dout themselves. I just go and do it. Of course now i get to think through because i am getting wiser. And i understand its goood to think through and still many times i do first and think later. I am over confident sometimes about something and i believe it’s great because we find our balance. Always believe in myself ands i always say to myself i can do it and I do.
