Meet Aisha Taylor

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Aisha Taylor. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Aisha below.

Aisha, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I developed my authentic confidence through failure. After not being able to pass an exam to get my certification to keep the job that I love doing, my confidence was fueled by fear. I was already working in my dream job as an Assistant Principal but was forced to be involuntarily terminated after struggling to pass the certification exam, not to mention I spoke out about a safety issue that brought national attention to the campus. All of a sudden working off that probationary certificate made it easier to get rid of me. Failure teaches us more resilience then we imagine.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Aisha Taylor is a confidence coach, author, dynamic speaker and highly-sought after consultant. She is known for her uncanny ability to empower teachers and industry leaders to show up as their most confident selves, all while making a bold impact both in and out of the classroom.

Aisha built her coaching and consulting practice on the belief that boosting the confidence and “can-do” attitude of industry leaders and educational professionals has a rippling, positive effect on how students learn and grow both personally and academically. The transformative results that educators and industry leaders achieve after working with her are proof of that belief.

A recent principal, Aisha has more than a decade of experience and knowledge on how to teach through any moment, be it a pandemic or a personal crisis. She is also skilled at coaching professionals on how to maintain a resilient mindset and activate their emotional intelligence in a way that best serves students, staff and colleagues.

No stranger to national platforms, Aisha’s confidence-boosting methods have landed her the keynote speaker spot at Success Women’s Conference and the Propelcon Virtual Conference, as well as features in Voyage Houston Magazine and on Fox 26 News, Black Educators Rock and more.

And yet for Aisha, no stage or news feature can compare to what she values and loves the most: showing educators how to unleash their inner greatness so they can do the same for their students. That passion led her to pen a book now available on Amazon titled, Faith. Fear. Resilience. How to Reclaim Your Education Life.

What sets Aisha apart is that she focuses on helping her clients use their gifts to discover their purpose and build confidence that impacts life success.

She does that by creating digital products such Courses, eBooks, and a Confidence product line This year she will be launching an empowerment brunch and looking forward to making EDU Homecoming bigger and better.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
It took the attributes of Faith, Fear, and Resilience to overcome one of the most challenging times in my life. Being confident about your strengths gives you courage and resolution when life seems like it’s getting the best of you. It helps us to keep things in perspective and back yourself when everyone else says that the task ahead is impossible to complete. Your confidence and mindset will determine your success. The more confident you are in your own skills will give you the ability to bounce back when life is at a stand still.

I have learned that every time I choose to face my fear and trust God, something amazing happens! He elevates me and shows me that His word is true and that he has my back! Conquering my fears and staying confident in my ability to bounce back allowed me to stay true to what God has called me to do in my life. Staying in the comfort of the known, rather than going into the unknown holds us back from discovering our purpose. That is what separates us from being good to being great! I decided to “take the leap” to see just what God has in store for me. I decided I am going after everything God has for me!

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
It’s not who, it is what has been most helpful in me overcoming challenges and I would have to say my faith has been essential in my success. I am a women of faith and I lean on the promises of God trusting him to his word. From trials to triumph he has never failed me yet.
