Alamanchermane , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

Even if you’ve feel stuck, or can’t see how you’ll get through another day; if feel you don’t have want it tao, feel afraid, or don’t know how things will work out.
I believe It’s never too late to become everything you’ve ever wanted to be.
Everything meant for you is still out there!
I’ve learned that persistence and belief in oneself can lead to great things.
My name is Alamanchermane Medeiros.
It took me a while to learn how to write and spell my name lol I also have two nicknames:
Cherminha and Jasmin.

I am originally from Brazil and i came to the US when I was 21, after study 2 years of fashion design I never thought that my path would lead me to designing charcuterie boards instead of designing clothes!

My dad was a fisherman and own a small local bar on a very small village named Campinho situated near to a city called luz Minas Gerais, my mom was always dedicated housewife sometimes she would also cook fresh meals when we have request from the customers.
Hospitality and love for food was always present in my life.
Although we didn’t have much, my mom instilled in me the values of family, honesty, love, and respect.
Coming to a new country at a young age was both exciting and challenging.
it was one of the hardest times of my life, emotionally overwhelming.
When I first arrived, I faced the challenges must of us imigrants do, new language, new culture, the cold and be far away from the people that I love the must!

I’ll never forget the day I was walking past a bakery, feeling so hungry and really craving a famous Brazilian snack called esfira. But I couldn’t afford to get me one at that time.
The next day, as I was waiting for someone to pick me up from work I decided to read my Bible to pass the time. When I turned the page, I was shocked to find a $20 bill I did not remember that was there, i will never forget it felt like a small miracle and timely blessing.

These experiences taught me resilience. My faith provided strength, hope, and courage, especially in those tough times.

I’m reminder of the verse who have a particular meaning to me:
Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.
Romans 5:3-4:

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Three most important qualities in my journey have been resilience, creativity, and networking.

Resilience helped me overcome challenges, creativity inspired my charcuterie designs, and networking opened doors to new opportunities.

For those starting out, focus on building these qualities. Learn to see challenges as chances to grow, keep experimenting and learning to boost your creativity, while it’s fine to be inspired by others, make sure to develop and showcase your own unique style.

Don’t overthink it-just start! Your work may not be perfect at first, but experience is key to improvement and achieving perfection.
and make an effort to connect with others in your field to grow your network.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

When I feel overwhelmed, I recognize the importance of listening to my body, particularly in the event industry where the workload can be intense and unpredictable.
There are quieter months, but then there are periods when I might work with consecutive events, which can be very demanding.

Organization is crucial. I rely on detailed to-do lists and a well-structured schedule to navigate through busy days and ensure that everything runs smoothly. This helps me stay on top of tasks and manage my time effectively.

Equally important is taking care of myself. I make sure to get adequate rest, which is essential for maintaining my energy levels and focus.

Connecting with nature is one of my preferred ways to recharge; whether it’s a walk in the park or simply enjoying some time outdoors, it helps me reset mentally and additionally, spending quality time with family provides me with emotional support and balance, reminding me of what truly matters.
