Meet Albert Danielyan

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Albert Danielyan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Albert, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

While I was growing up I saw all the hard work my parents did to provide my brother and I with everything we needed and more on top of that. My dad worked physically demanding jobs and my mom had to juggle work, motherhood, and community college since the knowledge they learned in Armenia wasn’t recognized after immigrating. They never let up and kept pushing us to improve ourselves and persevere.
My brother also help instill my strong work ethic as he made a name for himself doing what he loves and continues to grow through hard work and effort. My family showed me what hard work can provide and I’m using what they taught me to one day repay them.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I currently work at a fintech company as an engineer to customize our product for our clients. The knowledge I’ve acquired while working with our clients and our product has opened my eyes to the impact technology has on the economy.
On a more personally level I have a side hobby of 3D printing sculptures. Clients request what they want and I try to find models that they love, if I can’t find anything I try to create it myself and give them something they’ll love to look at every day. My significant other and I have an Instagram dedicated to our prints called aandts3dstudio.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

One major quality that was impactful in my journey was a continuous drive to better myself. Whether that be in school, work, or my personal life. Begin contempt limits what a person can achieve and prevents them from reaching their full potential.

It was always useful to be able to handle criticism, both constructive and not. Constructive criticism could help open your mind to improving yourself and breaking out of a rut. Even learning how to handle non-constructive criticism is helpful as it prevents unnecessary conflict that wastes your time and energy. There are, however, rare occurrences when someone’s non-constructive criticism can be molded into something more useful and that may not be clear initially.

Another quality that was impactful was being flexible. This can be applied to the hours you’re expected to work or the plan you set out for yourself. Being flexible allows you to experience things that were not expected in your original plan.

As a word of advice to people starting their journey, don’t make any haste decisions. Somethings happen for a reason and opening yourself to new experiences can help improve you or even change the rest of your life.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

My main challenge currently is standing out and competing with the thousands of individuals who are in the same field as me. Competition fuels improvement, which is why I am currently earning a Master’s degree.
My original life plan didn’t include a Master’s degree, however, with the current climate in the tech industry one must go above and beyond to shine above other candidates. The topics I’m learning during my degree also show me what I could be missing out by only working. Continued education will keep you one step ahead of everyone else.
