Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alberto Anaya. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Alberto, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
Discipline over time builds both of them. Being able to do things that we know we need to do but don’t feel like doing, when they are aimed at achieving a realistic short to medium-term goal, results in improvement or progress (in any of the capacities related to the effort you put in) and a strong sense of confidence and self-esteem that comes with that improvement or progress, regardless of whether the goal is achieved or not.
Naturally, when the goal is achieved, the sense of reward is much greater, but regardless of whether it is achieved or not, there is a certain beauty in sacrifice. Seeing that you are capable of sacrificing things in pursuit of a goal reinforces both your self-esteem and your confidence.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
At Solvaudio (solvaudio.com), we offer complete music and audio post-production solutions for film, TV, and video games. We are a one-stop solution for filmmakers that provides creative and technical support for all kinds of audio post-production and music needs.
The prices are very affordable, and the quality is undeniably there. We were born to provide an affordable one-stop solution for independent filmmakers so that they can get the sound of their films right on a budget. We really care about your film from a fully comprehensive sound and music perspective and that’s what sets us apart.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Those would be:
– Musicianship (Harmony, Counterpoint, Orchestration, Music Analysis, Sight Reading, etc.)
– Acoustics (Understanding the fundamentals of sound and how to describe it using numerical parameters in the realm of physics.)
– Production skills (Recording, Mixing, Sound Design, etc.)
Everything you need to learn is available in books and on the internet. Gather materials from these sources and seek out as many mentors as possible for each specific area.
What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
Business. After dedicating 20 years to in-depth studies of music and sound, I am finally finding my footing in the business side of my career. I’m thrilled about it, and I’m keeping busy!
