Meet Alejandra & Dahomy Bermudez

We recently connected with Alejandra & Dahomy Bermudez and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Alejandra & Dahomy Bermudez, thank you for joining us today and sharing your experiences and acquired wisdom with us. Burnout is a huge topic these days and so we’d love to kick things off by discussing your thoughts on overcoming or avoiding burnout

One of the things that keeps both of us grounded and grateful is consistently making time for ourselves—usually in the mornings right after we wake up or at night before going to bed. Taking a few minutes for meditation, journaling, writing affirmations, listing three things we’re grateful for, reading a bit, and doing our devotional helps us reconnect and stay centered. These are simple, free practices that we’ve been doing for a long time, and they truly make a difference. Physical exercise is another key practice that supports our mental and emotional well-being.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

We’re a family-owned business, two sisters who decided to turn their passion for organizing into their dream company: The Tidy Freak. What started as a simple idea without much structure, —just thinking, “what’s the best that could happen?”—has grown into the business we now proudly call our own.

Today, we make a living doing what we love, and after a lot of hard work, consistency, and navigating highs and lows, The Tidy Freak has become a solid, thriving company.

We offer professional organizing services for families, homes, and businesses, creating personalized systems that are easy to maintain and tailored to each client’s personality, routines, and lifestyle.

But our mission goes beyond serving clients, we’re also passionate about supporting our community and educating others about the impact and importance of order in our lives.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, we’d say the three most impactful things in our journey were: patience, which taught us to honor our own pace and trust that things take time; genuine connection, which helped us build a business rooted in care and authenticity; and resilience, which gave us the strength to keep going through the ups and downs of entrepreneurship.

Resilience was key because this journey hasn’t been a straight line. There were slow seasons, moments of doubt, and times when we questioned everything. But we kept showing up.
Our advice? Be patient and stay consistent.

I always say that starting a business is like planting a seed. You have to take action first—plant the seed—and then show up every day to care for it. You’ll go through tough seasons, unexpected weather, and moments when things look like they might wither. But with love and attention, it will grow again. And through it all, you have to trust that the fruits will come. After much resilience, they do—and that’s when you finally see the results of months and even years of effort.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

We always say that our business is a family business, and many people assume it’s just because we’re two sisters behind this dream. Without a doubt, our family and close circle have been the most helpful along this journey. From the very beginning—when The Tidy Freak was just an idea—they were there, supporting us with love, encouragement, and honest feedback.

They’ve helped us see our strengths when we doubted ourselves, stepped in when we needed extra hands, and reminded us of our “why” when things got tough. Friends who became family, mentors who believed in us, and our own family who wore The Tidy Freak shirt (literally and figuratively) whenever we needed them. This dream wouldn’t exist without them.

Behind every win, every skill we’ve developed, and every challenge we’ve overcome, there’s always been someone from our circle reminding us we’re not alone.
