We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alejandra Dominguez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alejandra below.
Alejandra , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
Our resilience wasn’t born in moments of triumph, but in the hard silences, in the invisible parts of our journey.
It began when my husband and I left behind not just a country, but everything we had worked for: our properties, our law degrees, our careers, our identity, our sense of stability. We arrived in the United States with our children, a couple of suitcases, and a mountain of uncertainty. But we made a silent promise: we would rebuild everything… together.
There were days when we accepted any job that allowed us to put food on the table — valet parking, house cleaning, driving, dog walking, pool services — whatever it took to keep moving forward. We traded courtrooms for cleaning supplies, professional titles for extreme exhaustion. But we never gave up on our dreams.
We took turns holding each other up when one of us felt like we couldn’t go on.
He would leave before sunrise and return soaked in sweat and chlorine — but always with a smile. I would wipe my tears in silence, then show up as a mom, worker, wife, and warrior, all at once. We were exhausted, but never defeated. Because even when the world forgot who we were, we remembered who we are to each other.
That’s where our resilience lives — in the everyday, in those glances that say “we’ve got this,” in our children’s laughter and their goals fulfilled. In a business that was built from scratch, Family Pool 360, now awarded and thriving, built with faith, sweat, and love.
Our story is not one of luck. It’s a story of choosing each other, over and over again, even when everything else felt uncertain.
We are each other’s strength. And that, more than anything else, is where our resilience comes from.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
At Family Pool 360, we don’t just maintain pools — we help families protect the heart of their homes. My husband and I started this company during the pandemic, after taking on all kinds of jobs to survive and care for our children as immigrants rebuilding our lives from scratch. What makes our brand special is not just the certifications or awards — it’s the soul behind it.
We’re proud to say that Family Pool 360 has been recognized as “The Best of the Best” in Palm Beach County for three consecutive years. We offer cleaning, repairs, and now also remodeling services in partnership with trusted companies. Our clients receive direct attention from us — the owners — because we believe in treating every home as if it were our own.
What excites us most right now is the expansion of our services and the opportunity to create jobs for other immigrant families. We’re also working on launching a community empowerment initiative to help others turn hardship into entrepreneurship.
Family Pool 360 is proof that even in uncertain waters, something extraordinary can be built — with faith, discipline, and love.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three qualities that have shaped our journey as a couple, parents, and entrepreneurs are adaptability, emotional intelligence, and perseverance.
Adaptability was our lifeline when we left behind our profession, our country, and everything we once knew. We had to start from zero — accepting jobs we never imagined, learning a new culture, a new language, and a new way of life. We did it together, reminding each other every day that our worth was not in our titles, but in our attitude. Our advice: be willing to learn, without ego, without fear, and with humility.
Emotional intelligence helped us stay grounded. There were moments when one of us was falling apart, and the other became the anchor. There was anger, sadness, and frustration — and the only way through was with empathy, honest communication, and patience. Our advice: listen without judgment, speak with kindness, and remember that your family is your safest place.
Perseverance was the daily decision to keep going. Even when everything was uncertain, even when we were exhausted, even when the path ahead looked impossible — we moved forward. For our children, for us, for a future we couldn’t see yet, but deeply believed in. Our advice: move forward even if you’re scared or unsure. The smallest step is better than standing still.
The journey of migration and entrepreneurship is not easy, but if you walk it with love, as a team, and with these three qualities in your heart, you won’t just go far — you’ll get there together.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
The biggest challenge we currently face is scaling our business without losing its essence.
Family Pool 360 was built with our own hands, our hard work, and our deepest “why”: to give our children stability and to rebuild our dignity as professionals and immigrants. Now that the business is growing, our biggest fear is losing the personal touch — the essence that made clients trust not just our service, but our story.
To overcome this, we’re investing in team training, automation, and leadership development. But most importantly, we’re learning to delegate with heart — not just for efficiency, but for impact. We’re committed to growing with integrity, staying close to our community, and creating opportunities for other families like ours.
Because for us, true success isn’t just about expansion — it’s about staying faithful to the reason we started.
