Meet Alethia Tucker

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Alethia Tucker a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alethia, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Finding my purpose wasn’t like a bolt of lightning on a clear day; it was more like a slow sunrise, gently illuminating the path after a really long, dark night. You see, there was this time in my life that felt like I was being tested to my limits. My dad was battling the tough side of chemo, and I was trying to heal from a C Spine surgery. To say it was tough is an understatement.

In those moments, though, something shifted for me. My parents had always been about serving others, showing me through their actions what it means to really give. But it was during this incredibly hard time, reflecting deeply and facing life without my dad, that I truly got it. I realized I’d been holding myself back with all these doubts and fears about not being enough.

As I started to heal, both physically and emotionally, I saw things in a new light. I was stepping into my middle years, armed with some hard-earned lessons, and I felt this push to do something more. It was like my dad’s passing was a nudge for me to really embrace what I knew deep down—I had something valuable to share.

That’s how Jolease Enterprises came to life. I knew I wasn’t the only one who had faced tough times and felt stuck. There were other women out there, especially those hitting their 45 and beyond, who were going through similar struggles. I had found a way through the mess, a way to thrive, and I just had to share that.

At the core of it all, it’s about getting real with yourself. Before we even start talking about what you want to do, we dive into the big stuff—what you believe, what you value, and what you truly desire. It’s about peeling back the layers to find the real you underneath.

Helping women navigate this journey of rediscovery and reinvention has become my mission. It’s not just about a career change or finding a new hobby; it’s about transforming your whole life, starting from the inside out.

So, when I think about how I found my purpose, it’s really a story of breaking free from my own limits and learning to live fully. And now, I get to help others do the same through Jolease Enterprises. It’s about sharing the journey, the ups and downs, and finding that path to a life that truly thrives. And let me tell you, it’s a pretty amazing ride.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I have held conferences over the past few years that have allowed women to grace the stage to tell their stories of reinvention. I know that doing this has. two fold impact. It allows the speaker to have their voice heard and it allows those hearing the voice to be impacted to know that they too can change and that their experiences aren’t unique.

With a focus on resilience, empowerment, and the power of storytelling, the conference offers a dynamic space for women to connect, learn, and be inspired to rise above life’s challenges and embrace their fullest potential. Join us in this extraordinary gathering where each story becomes a beacon of hope and a catalyst for change.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Understanding who you are. This goes back to the limiting beliefs. It’s important to do the work around what’s needed to help you to believe that you are unique, you’ve been placed here for a purpose and that you are good just the way you are. the Bible says that God fearfully and wonderfully made us. I believe that the more we understand our intricate design the more we will realize that we have value.

Secondly, understanding that life happens to us, but it doesn’t have to necessarily define who we are. Women frequently experience failure and then believe that they are a failure. They have to make tough decisions because of desperate times, and then they make all future decisions from a desperate place. We have to realize that life brings us lessons that we use to craft how we live. There will be good and bad but we don’t have to allow situations to bury us. We need to learn how to grow in the soil that we’ve been planted. Do things that are going to build us up from the tough spots

The third skill or area of knowledge is fostering an attitude of gratitude. This posture helps to wash away all of the days when you feel that life doesn’t look so great. Being able to pull out all that’s right in life. Gratitude helps to do so many things to include enhancing our well being and strengthening our relationships. It helps to boost our resilience and absolutely increases our satisfaction with life overall.

My advice for developing and/or improving these skills:
1. Self-Awareness: Understand your strengths, weaknesses, values, and passions.
2. Vision and Goals: Set clear, achievable goals aligned with your purpose and values.
3. Resilience and Adaptability: Cultivate the ability to overcome challenges and adapt to change. This is incredibly important in being able to solidify the fact that life happens to us, but our experiences don’t necessarily define us.
4. Continuous Learning: Embrace lifelong learning and personal growth.
5. Community and Relationships: Build supportive relationships and contribute to the community.
6. Purposeful Action: Take intentional actions that align with your values.
7. Make practicing gratitude a daily activity. Begin a gratitude log where you enter at least three things that you are grateful for.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
She’s someone quite special. Picture this: a woman in her prime years, right around 45 or older. She’s not just any woman; she’s at this fascinating stage of life I like to call the prime years. It’s a time when she’s likely done a lot for others—maybe raised a family, built a career, or both—and now, there’s this stirring inside her, a whisper that’s getting louder, asking, “What about me?”

She’s incredible, really, but she might not see it yet. She’s facing those pesky pain points that seem to pop up around this age. Maybe she’s feeling a bit lost, questioning her purpose, or wrestling with those limiting beliefs that have been uninvited guests in her mind for far too long. She might be looking at her life, thinking about all the roles she’s played, and wondering, “Is this it?”

This is where I come in. I’m there to walk alongside her, to help her dismantle those limiting beliefs brick by brick. It’s about digging deep, finding out what really makes her heart sing. We talk about purpose—not just any purpose, but her unique, personal reason for jumping out of bed in the morning.

And a great life? We redefine that together. It’s not about what society says should make her happy. It’s about crafting a life that’s as unique and vibrant as she is. We explore what brings her joy, fulfillment, and that deep sense of satisfaction.

Finding her voice is a big one. So many women have been quieted over the years, told to keep their brilliance dimmed. Not anymore. I help her find that voice and turn up the volume. Whether it’s speaking up in conferences, sharing her wisdom in a book, or simply asserting herself in her daily life, it’s about making sure she’s heard.

And careers? We dive into that too. It’s never too late to pursue a career that feels like a calling rather than just a job. Whether it’s a pivot to something entirely new or transforming the work she already does, it’s all about alignment with who she truly is.

In essence, my ideal client is this wonderfully complex, incredibly capable woman standing at the crossroads of her prime years, ready to peel back the layers and reveal her most authentic self. I’m just here to hold the space, offer a hand, and cheer her on as she embarks on this exhilarating journey to a life that not only thrives but truly resonates with her soul. It’s a beautiful process, and I feel so honored to be part of it.
