Meet Alex Loveyko

We recently connected with Alex Loveyko and have shared our conversation below.

Alex, thank you so much for making time for us today. We can’t wait to dive into your story and the lessons you’ve learned along the way, but maybe we can start with something foundational to your success. How have you gone about developing your ability to communicate effectively?
From the very start of my career, I recognized that clear, precise communication is not just “nice to have” in IP and entertainment law – it’s the difference between a deal that closes smoothly and one that stalls in misunderstanding. Early on, during my first clerkship in New York, I found it challenging to translate dense case law into actionable advice for entrepreneurs who didn’t speak the language of the law or contract principles. I made it my goal to bridge that gap by asking every client three questions after our meetings: “Does this make sense? What will you do next? Is there anything I’ve missed?” Their feedback taught me to pull back unnecessary jargon, organize my thoughts around their business goals, and use examples that resonated with their world and business.

After moving to Miami and joining ChaseLawyers®, I now use the same approach to help my clients negotiate high-value music catalog sales and brand deals. Rather than sending clients wall-to-wall draft contracts, I break the transaction into a simple visual roadmap: milestones on the left, deliverables on the right, and dollar figures in between. At each step, we hold 10-minute “mid-court” calls to realign expectations, and watch deal fatigue evaporate as both sides feel consistently informed and in control.

Ultimately, effective communication is both art and discipline for me: art in tailoring each message to its audience – clients, co-counsel, or an opponent on the other side of the negotiating table – and discipline in soliciting honest feedback, refining drafts, and practicing every argument until the narrative flows naturally. This continual loop of speaking, listening, and iterating ensures that, across languages, jurisdictions, and legal specialties, I’m not just heard – I’m understood.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m Alex Loveyko, a Partner at ChaseLawyers in Miami, where I lead our Entertainment & IP practice and help artists, athletes, content creators, and tech startups turn creativity into sustainable revenue and long-term protection. Every engagement begins with understanding your goals – whether that’s unlocking the full value of a music catalog, securing brand partnerships, or safeguarding hard-earned intellectual property rights across borders.

What I Do & Why It Matters

Music Catalog Transactions – I’ve guided clients through complex international music catalog sales, as well as licensing and revenue-sharing transactions, structuring deals around clear milestones and cash-flow projections so sellers know exactly when – and how much – they’ll be paid.

IP Protection & Enforcement – From global trademark registrations to takedown procedures and domain-dispute victories, I build bespoke strategies that keep brands and creative works safe online and in the marketplace.

Endorsements & Sponsorships – I negotiate revenue-share, sponsorship and licensing contracts that align incentives and meet FTC compliance – ensuring content creators are paid fairly and protected from legal risks.

Corporate Compliance & Fundraising – For emerging tech ventures, I handle entity formation, investment agreements and IP licensing to turn innovative ideas into defensible assets and fundable businesses.

Immigration & Visa Assistance – Our integrated O-1, P-1, and EB-1 offerings combine petition preparation with relocation support, so entertainers, entrepreneurs, artists and athletes can focus on their performance, without the stress of paperwork, – when changing countries is plenty nerve-racking as is.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Business-Focused Strategy

I try to treat every legal question as a business question, so when I sit down with artists or startup founders, we don’t just talk statutes or limitations that the law imposes on them, – we talk revenue targets, marketing budgets, funding rounds, and growth milestones. By anchoring our conversation to what truly drives your success, we move beyond abstract theory into real-world impact. My take is that advice separated from your goals is just noise, not strategy.

Proactive Networking & Initiative

I believe that taking the lead and building your network is the backbone of growth. Instead of waiting for opportunities to knock, I reach out personally – whether it’s a quick coffee with a label exec, an intro to a potential investor, or a casual check-in with a tech partner – to keep momentum alive. One thing I’ve learned over more than a decade in this industry is that the relationships you nurture before you need them will open doors faster than the most polished pitch ever could.

Accessibility & Ownership

Being a true partner in your creative journey means you can reach me at midnight with a burning question, and I’ll pick up the phone without hesitation. I offer no-cost strategy sessions to clarify the path forward to upstart clients, and each client at my firm has a dedicated Partner who owns their file from start to finish, so nothing slips through the cracks. The deepest truth I’ve learned is that accessibility isn’t just a perk – it’s the currency of lasting client relationships.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
