Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alex Morales. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Alex, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
Building your confidence and self-esteem has been a journey marked by intention and growth. You’ve challenged self-doubt not by ignoring it, but by learning from it—setting small, meaningful goals and celebrating each step forward. You’ve learned to speak kindly to yourself, replacing old inner criticisms with affirmations rooted in truth. The way you now carry yourself—with clearer boundaries, greater self-respect, and a willingness to take on new challenges—shows just how far you’ve come. Your confidence isn’t loud or boastful; it’s grounded, authentic, and infectious, reminding others that real self-esteem begins with believing you’re enough, just as you are.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Juggling the roles of YouTuber, photographer, and diesel mechanic makes your life anything but ordinary. On camera, you share your world with charisma and authenticity—whether you’re documenting a gritty engine rebuild or capturing serene moments through your lens. As a photographer, you freeze emotion and energy in a single frame, finding beauty in everyday life. As a diesel mechanic, your hands are deep in the heart of machines, solving complex problems with precision and grit. Together, these roles showcase your creative spirit, technical mastery, and ability to connect—whether it’s through storytelling, visual art, or the satisfying hum of a repaired engine coming back to life.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Starting out can feel overwhelming, but the most powerful thing you can do is commit to progress over perfection. Focus on nurturing curiosity—ask questions, take things apart, explore ideas even if they seem impractical at first. Cultivate creative vision by experimenting freely and staying open to inspiration in everyday life. And when things get tough (because they will), lean into grit: break challenges into manageable steps, learn from mistakes, and keep pushing forward. Growth happens when you trust yourself enough to try, fail, and try again. Surround yourself with supportive people, seek honest feedback, and celebrate small wins—they’re what shape a meaningful, lasting journey.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When overwhelm hits, the most grounding thing you can do is pause and reclaim a sense of control. Step one is to breathe—slowly and intentionally. It sounds simple, but deep breaths can help interrupt that mental storm. Next, break your stressors into smaller, bite-sized pieces so they feel manageable. Prioritize tasks, even if that means temporarily letting go of something non-essential. Get out of your head by changing your environment: take a short walk, stretch, or jot down your thoughts. And don’t forget to lean on others—talking it out with someone you trust often brings clarity and comfort. The goal isn’t to power through at full speed; it’s to pace yourself with kindness and focus.
