We were lucky to catch up with Alex Trejo recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Alex, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My father
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My name is Alex Trejo I am a snake wrangler in the Southern California area. I’ve been catching snakes for over 20 years. As a kid, 7 years old I caught my first rattlesnake. The most exciting part of my career is to be able to provide a safe environment for people and to give snakes a second chance at life. We provide 24/7 emergency removals, safety inspections, snake fencing, and dog training. These are all great services to keep you and your family safe and sound
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The most important skills for my job are, attention to detail, extreme focus and concentration, and lastly tenacity. These are what set me apart from others doing the same. My best advice is to set a goal so high, that even if you don’t reach the goal you will be light years ahead of any “realistic” goal
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
It would be my father. A man who’s strong, who has integrity. Who’s love and care for me showed me how to present my self to this world
