We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alexa Collins-Shields. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alexa below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Alexa with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My father. He has been a hard worker his entire life. I always saw it as a young girl, and he taught me that nothing ever comes easy. He still works very hard til this day and he has instilled that within me!
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My name is Alexa Collins and I’ve been a social media content creator for about 10 years now. I’ve been working with many brands, companies, and business owners to help grow their company in the social media advertising space as a content creator. Over the years, I’ve learned to grow my brand exponentially to have a community of over 3 million + followers. I’ve been able to travel the world, represent some amazing brands, invest in things I love, and have the financial freedom I always dreamed of. Now, as I get older, I started on working on my own company with my co-founder John Mocadlo, called Impossible Bags. We are a luxury re-sale, and cosignment company. We opened our first ever flagship location in Orlando Florida in April of this year. We are currently working on our second location and looking to scale this company. It has been a beautiful learning experience and I love seeing the hard work that goes into growing it.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Always be kind and respectful to others in the workplace
-your name, brand, and reputation is everything. Always treat others the way that you want to be treated.
2. Consistency is key
-i’ve always learned that being consistent has helped me grow and scale my business
3. Quality over quantity
-once you get to a certain level in business, choose who you work with wisely. being selective is a great way of not only reducing stress, but maintaining a good image
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I’m always looking for like-minding individuals, investors, or people that have creative minds while working on Impossible Bags. We are looking to grow this thing big, and good team is how you do so.
