We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alexa Dolmo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alexa below.

Hi Alexa, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
It took me a very long time to find my purpose. I was lost in the world, I did a lot of things I enjoyed for free trying to figure out what I truly loved. In fact, the journey of finding my purpose started back in 2020; the pandemic forced me to tap into all the areas of myself when and I am very grateful the world shut down during that time, well all needed that.

I realized that my purpose is bringing people together and helping them heal in a form of joy. My aura is very sane and I make others feel goof when they’re in my presence or when I curate spaces for them. I was able to acknowledge this through God because He always showed me the signs I asked for when I was so eager to know what my purpose was.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
It is so hard for me to talk about what I do because I do so much and the list is long but, I am going to try my best here… I am an lifestyle influencer, brand strategist, tax specialist, event curator and now talk show host. The most special thing about all of this is the fact that I find joy in everything I do and, most importantly everything is genuine.

I have been seen on Fox 26 news, KHOU and even Telemundo showcasing and talking about my Garifuna culture from Honduras. I was born in La Ceiba Honduras and moved to the states 13 years ago; Houston is my second home and I love it here. I started my content creation journey in 2016 to teach people about black people who speak Spanish and my Garifuna culture… and now here we are.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
My determination, consistency and ability to execute every idea I had in mind has definitely helped me in my journey as a creator, I am the type of person who will make anything happen, even if gets difficult because I understand that nothing good comes easy, we have to put in the work and build brick by brick.

For those of you who are new to this and want to grow, my advice is to do something that you really enjoy doing so that you can do it well and pour your all into it. Also, be consistent and don’t be afraid to fail because that is where you’ll get your best lessons from. I have failed so many times, and I still do but I am not afraid of failure anymore… I understand is all part of the process. God want us all to win but we have to put in the work.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
The Four Agreements definitely helped me so much, specially with learning how to deal with people in my business and personal life. The most valuable lesson I got was “Don’t take things personally” and that is something I’ve been getting great at, specially when I feel like someone is acting different… we all are going through something and sometimes people project what they’re going through BUT, don’t take it personal because it has nothing to do with you.
