Meet Alexander-Benjamin Moore

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Alexander-Benjamin Moore a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alexander-Benjamin, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

I developed my confidence and self esteem by doing a lot of shadow work, developing a constant workout routine, and fasting often.

Shadow work to me was really sitting with the uncomfortable ideas that I had of myself and past wounds/traumas. Journaling, meditating and other self reflective exercises that helped me shine light and love on the parts of me that needed to be felt, seen, heard and acknowledged.

Having a consistent workout/movement practice whether it be weight lifting, yoga or running has really helped me connect deeper with my body and develop a confidence that starts inside out. The phrase I like is, look good feel good!

Fasting has helped me be able to detox body and learn what is really important and essential for me to consume as fast as nutrition goes. Also helping me have a better understanding and relationship with food. This has allowed me to make better food choices and get away from eating for pleasure or boredom and into eating properly to fuel my body!

I now take a very holistic approach to my lifestyle, which has helped me trust myself and love myself! Something no one can take away from me.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My brand is a one stop shop for wellness. I help people unlock the answers, healings and confidence that is already within them. This is done by pinpointing mental hindrances and helping to develop healthy habits that are sustainable for the long run. I am a fitness coach, a holistic teacher and run wellness events around LA with friends. I also work with a detoxifying water system known as Kangen Water which helps return the body to homeostasis, which in return allows the body to maintain its optimal levels of health.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The three most important skills/qualities that have been most impactful for me as a person have been:

1. Active Listening- Being able to be fully present when listening to someone, and listening to understand them instead of listening to respond. This allows me to figure out how or if I can help them or form some kind of relationship with them.

2. Adaptability- This has been my superpower. Most of the time in life things are not going to pan out the way we want or envision, so we must be able to find ways to adapt! This is a skill that takes some time to master and it really just starts with you being able to trust yourself. Everything is figureoutable!

3. Patience- In a society that is craving instant gratification and instant results, those who have patience find the real success. Learning your skill set and mastering it takes time and patience. There is no real success that can last long off of overnight luck. Luck favors the prepared!

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?

My ideal client is someone who is willing to receive help and willing to actually take the steps towards changing their life. Usually these people are the ones who are tired of their own messiness and have come to the decision that they need a major change in their life.

A second ideal client is someone who has started the steps to change their lives and just need a little extra push and accountability!
