Meet Alexander Gore

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alexander Gore. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Alexander, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I found my purpose through art. In 2018, I suffered from a psychosis. I lost touch with reality and my sense of self. I was so scared… but in this time is when I found art. I started painting every single day to cope with my life.
In fear, I found passion. I found purpose. Art is the reason I stayed alive and even looked forward to waking up again to make art.
I share my story of struggling with mental illness in hopes to inspire others. YOUR VOICE MATTERS.
It is my purpose to share my passion of art with the world- to inspire- and to share my experiences with mental health, which I make art about.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am focused on figuring out how to share my passion and love for art with the world. It definitely is a process, making the art- photographing the art- talking about the art- sharing the art and REPEAT. It is my reason for being- it is my purpose.
Right now, I’m just focused on making the art. With time- my focus will change to getting my art out there more, getting my story out into the world to inspire others. Thats always been the goal. HELP SOMEONE-

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I think that 3 qualities that have impacted my journey have been resilience, strength and honesty.
When I fall 7 times, I stand up 8. I keep going no matter how hard times get. I am honest with myself on where I am in the process.

If I could give you any advice on how to develop these qualities- I would say KEEP GOING TOWARDS YOUR DREAMS- It won’t always be easy, and you will make mistakes along the way- but one thing I’ve learned in my time on this earth is that dreams matter. What you REALLY want matters- and there is a reason you want it.
For example, I want to pursue art as my career. I know this won’t happen overnight. All my hard work in my artistic practice will finally pay off- years of practice. Years of making mistakes and trying again and again; one day it will all pay off.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment by Eckhart Tolle is a book that I have found valuable on the journey.
This is the book that changed my life, the first book I read on my spiritual path.
BE PRESENT IN YOUR LIFE. There is power in the now. There is beauty in the now.
