Meet Alexandria Ellison

We recently connected with Alexandria Ellison and have shared our conversation below.

Alexandria , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I found my purpose by going after the things that excited me and brought light to my life, discarding the things that didn’t. I believe when you’re not following your purpose, you feel it deeply within you. I chose to go after the things/people that resonated with me.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Currently I’m a freelance videographer/photographer and video/photo editor in the Austin area. I think the special thing about the field of photography and video is capturing special moments. As corny as it sounds- a picture truly is worth a thousand words. Once a moment is gone, you can’t get it back but a photo or video can take you back easily, flooding you with emotions- there’s something really special about that. I’m also passionate about music, and I’ve channeled that passion by making music videos. I love that visuals can add different layers of meaning to a song.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Three qualities that were most important on my journey were being teachable, staying humble, and being kind to people in the field. Having a willingness to learn from others is vitally important to improving your skillset. It’s important to not be too prideful and accept advice from others. Remembering that every neighbor can be your teacher is a good philosophy to live by.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I’m absolutely looking for folks to collaborate with. I’d love to work with people that are creative, positive and are passionate about their artistic vision. My email is alexandriaellison212@gmail.com
