Meet Alexandria Van Dyke

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alexandria Van Dyke. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alexandria below.

Alexandria, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

My confidence and self-esteem developed through my village. I was blessed to have strong role models growing up that poured into me from a very young age. Through programs like Girls Inc., my uniqueness and individuality was embraced and nurtured to allow me to be the same for other young girls.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Alexandria Van Dyke is a Spring 2017 graduate from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Education for Sport Management and is a native of Albany, GA. Now a Double Dawg, Alex has also received her Master of Education from UGA in Fall of 2021. Earlier on, she graduated from Monroe Comprehensive High School as the Class of 2013 Valedictorian in Albany, GA.

In 2020, Alex began serving as Administrative Assistant at The X for Boys Program and The X Cares Foundation. Helping develop and streamline general operations, logistics, branding, and marketing, Alexandria has taken initiative in her Administrative Assistant role to advance the mission of both organizations. Those skills would later assist King Randall with his next business venture to open The Life Preparatory School for Boys in fall 2022, where Alex would add the roles of Chief Operating Officer and Head of School to her resume.

Previously in her young career, she has served as Director of Athletic Operations for a local high school, is a Lady Pearl Etiquette Consultant, has previously served as a Direct Delivery Assistant at Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia, has worked for ESPN/SECNetwork Dawgvision Live Game Production Crew, and served as Executive Director of the United States of America’s Miss Georgia Pageant from 2021 to 2023. Additionally, she currently serves as Director of Marketing and Recruiting for the Miss Black Mississippi & Tennessee USA pageants and as Executive Director for the Miss Black Georgia USA Pageant.

Along her pageant career, Alex has earned the titles of the Inaugural Girls Inc of Albany, GA Service Ambassador 2015-2016, 2018 Omega Ambassador for the Beta Zeta Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Miss Black America Athens, GA 2018, under the Miss Black America System, the FIRST EVER United States of America’s Miss Albany 2018, United States of America’s Miss Historic Georgia 2019, United States of America’s Miss Alabama 2020, United States of America’s Miss Florida 2021, Miss Georgia Ultimate United States 2023, Miss Ultimate United States 2023, and now proudly serves as United States of America’s Ms. Georgia 2024. She also serves as Executive Director for the Miss Black Georgia USA Pageant.

Alex promotes her personal platforms #ChangeTheGame, exposing girls to STEM education and sport participation to enhance each girls’ self-esteem and self-discipline, Girl Scouting, and #WWA Women With Autism. Through collaborative efforts, #ChangeTheGame supports the mission and vision of Play Like A Girl!, Girl Scouts of the USA, and Girls Inc. As an advocate for female youth development, promoting girls’ participation in sports and STEM has been a passion of Alex’s for years. When Alex is not serving her community, you can find her watching football, or watching her favorite cartoons.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I believe time management & organization, graphic design, and attention to detail have been the three factors contributing to my journey. Mastering these qualities has made me coachable and a lifelong student. I love to learn new things and help others execute their vision. That also attributes to my wonderful character and work ethic. I believe anyone that is coachable can develop into a great leader and garner success in whatever capacity they measure success. Being coachable fosters self-reflection, which results in improvement.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Serving your community through pageant sand as a titleholder takes a lot of work. Many of us, myself included, require a team. One way we accomplish goals is through sponsorship and collaborations. Things like fitness and nutrition, hair and makeup, wardrobe pieces, travel arrangements, meals, and more. Through promotions with me, you will generate consumer preference, foster brand loyalty, create positive PR and raise awareness of your organization as a whole. How? Not only do our titleholders provide excellent Brand Ambassadorship, but our judges and staff could also use and mention your products on their social media and to their following, maximizing exposure for your brand!
