Meet Alexey Boyko

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Alexey Boyko a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alexey, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

The most important thing is to believe in what you are doing, don’t give up and it will definitely start working out. And the better the result over time, the higher your self-esteem and confidence rise

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I started my career when I was a student in 2015. When I moved to Irkutsk (Siberia) I met a lot of guys who had been already tattooing. And after not very long time they immersed me in the culture that became for me the basis of my life.
My inspiration comes from the history of the northern peoples. From their traditions and folk art. And I try to carry those motifs into my art. If you look at my tattoo work, you’ll immediately get a sense of what the north is like

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Perseverance. This is the main postulate that helped me not to give up. The eternal search for something new is very difficult, but if you pass this way you will not regret it.
As well as patience and a desire to create something new

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?

The ideal client is someone who trusts me and my approach. Someone who appreciates my time and creativity.
