We recently connected with Alexis Amato and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexis, so happy to have you with us today and there is so much we want to ask you about. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others developed certain skills or qualities that we are struggling with can be helpful. Along those lines, we’d love to hear from you about how you developed your ability to take risk?
My dad taught me at an early age that without a risk, there will be little reward. To be honest, despite this being instilled in me, I still grew up with a lot of fear, probably because I had another side of my family who didn’t believe in risk at all. I knew however, that in order to succeed, I would have to break through my fears and start taking risks to see where they led me. The very first risk I remember taking was canceling my wedding in 2017 to my college sweetheart. I was already in my 30s and feared being alone and never meeting anyone again. 5 years later at the age of 36, I met my soulmate and now partner. It was ALL worth it. Fast forward to the pandemic when I was laid off from my job, I took a risk to take out all of my savings and re-invest it into my business- which has now grown to a multiple 6-figure company. Had I never taken the steps, I would have never seen where my limits could take me. It’s a risk to not go after the things you want, and it’s also a risk to go after them. So if either is a risk, why not take the risk that has the probability of giving you a reward? Not being disappointed is not a reward….and that’s the only thing you are left with when not taking the risk.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m a speaker, business coach, manifestation expert, retreat leader and podcast host, currently residing in the New England state of Connecticut. Previously a Sales Manager for hotel brands such as Hilton, Kimpton, and Fairmont, I excelled at my career in sales & marketing for 10+ years before losing my job to the pandemic and making a switch to coaching fulltime, in addition to the media business I’ve been growing for the past 4 years handling social media and influencer relations for various hospitality brands nationwide. As an advocate for the practice of manifestation, I work with business owners to change their limiting beliefs, scale their finances, and create more of a n online presence for their brand. Among other achievements, I’ve been featured as a speaker, panelist, podcast guest, and has also been featured in various publications, as well as created a successful Instagram following with my account @fullofsips based on my food and travel adventures. You can work with me directly by joining my most upcoming Manifestation retreat: https://
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities that I feel I encompassed as an entrepreneur that really helped my success was: Manifestation, Resiliency, and Confidence.
I used my practice of Manifestation to begin feeling into the energy of a business owner so I could embody the woman who was successful and motivated. Most business owners only focus on the strategy at the beginning and wonder why they’re not making money…most likely it’s because there’s something much deeper that’s blocking your cash flow that has nothing to do with your business plan or strategy.
Resiliency is important as a business owner because let’s be honest, there’s a lot of trial and error and you need to have the stamina to keep going even when things don’t turn out your way. I take each failure as a learning lesson that helps me grow and improve…some just stop believing in themselves the first time something goes wrong. Starbucks was denied 75 times before they finally got a business loan…imagine had they stopped after the first or second no?
Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
The Universe has your back by Gabby Bernstein is by far the most important book I’ve read in my life that led to my self-development. She teaches you in the book to rely on your intuition and begin trusting that the Universe “has your back.” Whether something didn’t go your way, or you’re currently living a life that you feel is meant for more, you are exactly where you need to be and you can choose your path and direction. Once you know what your desire, the Universe (or God, Source, etc) will be there to help you along the way…
