We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Alexis Chandler a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alexis, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Where do I get my resilience from? Honestly it’s been a life long learning experience. I’m still learning but I’ve learned from situations I’ve been in and also from conversing with older people, they’ve been through everything already. I love talking to people in general you can learn anything.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’ve been focusing on my Content lately honestly:) just making it and being consistent with the uploads.I have been networking with other creators just learning my community and exploring my opportunities. Lastly getting closer with god I already was but you can never be to close.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
3 skills that were most important in my journey was (1) being able to read the room or feeling energy. I say this because I know when to be in a room or when it isn’t for me and that has saved me from a lot of situations. (2) Everything dosent need a reaction/response. This has saved me from a lot of disagreements or arguments or just waisting energy sometimes NO RESPONSE is one. (3) Always keep going no matter what. And this is the one that has brought me through a lot.. life happens and you never know when, sometimes it may be a challenge but always keep going & never get discouraged . Many other things had helped but I’ll say this is my top 3.
We’ve all got limited resources, time, energy, focus etc – so if you had to choose between going all in on your strengths or working on areas where you aren’t as strong, what would you choose?
I believe it’s better to go all in on your strengths and I say this because when your naturally good at a anything it’s something you enjoy. overtime you’ll get better and it’ll become competitive. focusing on and maximizing your strengths is generally considered a better strategy than trying to be equally proficient in all areas, by leveraging your natural talents you can achieve greater success and satisfaction with less effort. While still maintaining awareness and working to improve weak areas when necessary.
