Meet Alexis Shupe

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alexis Shupe. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alexis below.

Alexis , we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?

My generosity comes from the life of going without. Growing up, my family didn’t have a lot of money. My older sister and grandma helped a lot with big things like the electricity bill, groceries or school clothes – all the way to the smaller things like field trip fees. I specifically remember a few times when I was young, getting to the register and our EBT card being declined due to funds not hitting yet. There were a few specific times a complete stranger would step forward and swipe their card without even blinking an eye. I don’t ever remember it being for Christmas or special events either. These humans were just generous. Money didn’t mean as much to them as helping a family buy their food did. A family they didn’t even know and wouldn’t see again. I’ll never walk away from a family who needs help, if I can give it.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

As a New Home Consultant with Lennar, I have the privilege of guiding families into the next chapter of their lives. I specialize in helping people find their next space—whether that’s their first home, their forever home, or the exciting “level up” they’ve worked hard for. What truly makes this role special to me is the joy I get to witness on the day of closing, or that moment during a tour when someone realizes, “This is the one.”

My goal is to take the stress, confusion, and overwhelm out of the homebuying process. Too often, buying a home becomes a burden; I’m here to bring the fun back. I focus on communication, trust, and making sure my clients feel supported every step of the way. I’m in this for the long run, and the relationships built through this journey are what fuel me—many clients become lifelong friends.

Lennar continues to grow in Northwest Indiana, and I’m excited to be part of that expansion. With new communities, thoughtfully designed floorplans, and some incredible incentives, there’s truly something for every kind of buyer right now. Whether you’re looking for convenience, luxury, or a fresh start, I’m here to make it happen and make it enjoyable.

If you’re ready to explore what’s next, I’d love to help you find the place you’ll call home.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Honesty
Honesty is everything in this profession. People are making one of the biggest financial and emotional decisions of their lives, and they deserve someone they can truly trust. Being transparent—about timelines, processes, or even challenges—builds real confidence. My advice: practice honesty with yourself first. Know your strengths, own your weaknesses, and always lead with integrity. Clients can feel when you’re genuine.

Patience
Success in new home sales doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time to build a client base, earn referrals, and develop your rhythm. Patience paired with consistent effort is what creates long-term momentum. For anyone early in their journey: don’t rush the process. Keep showing up, keep learning, and stay committed even on the slow days. The payoff is worth it.

Excitement
Energy is contagious. Being genuinely excited and happy for your clients makes the entire experience better—more memorable, more fun, and more meaningful. This is a huge milestone in their lives, and your passion helps set the tone. My advice: stay connected to why you love what you do. Celebrate the little wins, keep your mindset positive, and let your enthusiasm lead the way.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

Atomic habits and here’s why!

1. Small habits = big results
Clear teaches that tiny, consistent actions compound into massive success. In sales, this means daily follow-ups, consistent networking, and ongoing learning matter more than random bursts of effort.

2. Identity-based habits
Instead of saying, “I want to be good at sales,” you shift to: “I am someone who takes care of my clients” or “I am someone who follows up, always.” This identity shift changes how you show up every day.

3. Systems over goals
Wanting more sales is a goal.
Having a daily system for lead generation, relationship-building, and client care is what actually creates results.

4. Environment matters
Your workspace, routines, and even who you surround yourself with can make growth easier or harder. Clear teaches you how to set up your environment so success becomes effortless.
