Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ali Aktas. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Ali, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I was born in a small village and there was no big entertainment there. I found joy in cinema since then. It felt like everything was possible and i enjoyed dreaming a lot.
Back in days when I realized that i have a big passion on movies and every movie I watched, like they were teaching me something about the world. I realized that i wanted to be a storyteller. Back in highschool days, I wasnt very social person didn’t have many friends, so I decide I should create a movie account in the social media.
Then I create Moviegraf.
After highschool, I decide that going to cinema school. After high school for my bachelors in cinema I moved to Istanbul, I made many friends who interested cinema. Back in college days, mostly I interested advertisement business. After 6 years, I realized that I forgot my childhood dream, I should be a storyteller! So I decide, if I wanna be a storyteller, I have to start all over again, so now I moved to United Kingdom. I’m working our family business, we’re running a small restaurant. My ambition is that I have to regain discipline and make some money for my goals in cinema.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Currently, I’m working on a new project. I will be launching my clothing brand in 2025 and i am hoping it’ll fulfill my followers. And I will shoot my short film in 2025. I hope 2025 will be milestone for my future.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Dream a lot. Everything is possible. But life taught me that I should work so hard for my dreams. And keep away from distraction, just focus on your dreams and try to learn lessons from your mistakes, life is not your enemy, life is your biggest supporter. Believe me.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
My family and my dear friends. And of course my dear followers. They always told me that I should chase my dreams. No matter how difficult the situation seems. From now on I wanted to make them proud.
