Meet Ali Cameron

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ali Cameron. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ali below.

Hi Ali, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

As a mother of 4 girls, I didn’t just wake up one day a resilient human. It takes digging deep within yourself, and a constant and vigilant dedication to growing, pivoting, overcoming all of the challenges life throws at you. When life gets you down, or the bumps in the road feel impassable, you have to remember all the great humans in this world didn’t get to where they are by accident. When we decided to open Bloom Cheese Collective, we knew we were jumping out on a limb. But it wasn’t just choosing the harder path, we wanted to build something that we could share a little part of us with the world, and show our kids that you can do hard things with dedication and creativity. Part of our drive here at Bloom is that we wanted to create a space to foster the love of cheese for folks in all walks of life, whether you’re a new mom, a toddler trying a cheese for the first time, a daddy daughter date, or a couple having a much needed date night… Cheese brings people together in a way that we feel is special and unique, and that is what we want to share with the world.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

We are a cut to order cheese shop focused on promoting artisan cheese from around the world. We curate an experience in our shop that caters to people of all kinds and welcome folks from all over to come taste and enjoy the cheese, sandwiches, and snacks that we have to offer. We have events, tastings, classes, and pop ups the are all cheese focused and encourage excitement about the world of artisan cheese.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I feel as if I’m still early in my journey, but saying that, I think that people always have room to learn from those around them. I always keep my eyes and ears open to those around me. I love to interact with people and keep an open mind. Some of the best mentors I’ve learned from have always kept an open mind and an open heart.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

As a mother of 4, I constantly reflect on what my parents did for me. I couldn’t say enough good things about my parents. My father passed away when I was in my mid 20s, he was one of my biggest cheerleaders – for lack of a better description. There’s nothing like a daddy-daughter relationship. My mother is my best friend, and although we had our discrepancies growing up (what mother/daughter doesn’t??) she is my best friend to this day! My parents were always supportive and encouraging and I can only hope that I do the same for my babies.
