Meet Ali Gilbert

We were lucky to catch up with Ali Gilbert recently and have shared our conversation below.

Ali, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I think like many people, I look back at when I studied Exercise Science in college and think “If you said I would be in men’s health and doing what I do now I would think that is crazy” But I am go glad I landed here.

My friend Dr. Jade Teta once said “your pain in your purpose” and I didn’t think that applied to me, until it did. We all have our own “childhood trauma” and being a female growing up in a single parent household with a compromised relationship with my Dad, it wasn’t until adulthood when I realized my affinity for wanting to help men resulted in wanting them to be the best versions of themselves, and not end up like my Dad. I want them to show up as they want to in the world, and give them a platform to get their voice heard, to be seen, to be understood, and to have their health taken seriously and not so highly stigmatized like it is.

As I continue to drive my passion in men’s health, the messages I get from men who say they only considered TRT because of a post or podcast of mine, or how they only did bloodwork because of my content- that drives me. When a man transforms not only physically but mentally, emotionally, even spiritually- it is pretty fucking awesome to see

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a fitness professional who has found a unique niche specializing in men’s health and hormone optimization, as a female. I absolutely love what I do and it really doesn’t feel like work aside from the “running a business” side of it. I have an online coaching business called Silverback Coaching by Ali Gilbert, we have 3 coaches and a CEO as part of our team. It is amazing. We help men navigate the uncomfortable conversations surrounding their hormones, while streamlining that with fitness and nutrition coaching to position them as the most resilient, confident, elite + sexy version of themselves

We have high ticket 1:1 coaching as well as group coaching so there are options depending on what a man is looking to achieve.

I founded a live event for men’s health only called The Silverback Summit, the only event delivering unfiltered information that combines Testosterone replacement therapy, sexual performance, business, leadership, fitness + nutrition in one place. It is a community of like minded men who strive to become the highest performing humans they can, while having fun and being entertained.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I want to say communication skills, but that is something that is forever worked on, especially as I evolve as a leader in certain ways. Coming up I think having the unquenchable thirst to be in the same room as high achievers, form relationships that I know will be mutually benficial, constantly learn and pay it forward as best I can. I think the sooner someone realizes the relationships they cultivate in their field and network are everything, the more successful they will be. None of what I have accomplished could be done alone, and I am grateful for that

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
Our ideal client is the man who feels he has tried absolutely everything- fitness programs, diets, doctors, etc and still feels like he is going in circles for answers. Sometimes the solution is just sticking with one thing long enough, but often it is the guidance and objective view that gets us there. Hiring a professional is the best way to get you to where you want to be. Many of us “know what to do”, but don’t do it for whatever reason, I am a coach myself and have a business coach as well as a fitness and nutrition coach. I can get out of my own way to allow for that. If more men did that, and put ego aside, they’d be more successful in my opinion. So we want to work with driven men who have taken ownership of their health and ready to take things to the next level
