Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Aliayah. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Aliayah, we are so deeply grateful to you for opening up about your journey with mental health in the hops that it can help someone who might be going through something similar. Can you talk to us about your mental health journey and how you overcame or persisted despite any issues? For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.
I wouldn’t say I have overcame my mental health illnesses but I have learned how to cope with them Whenever I am having an episode I just use my coping skills my favorite is my 5 senses so I find something green , what’s the smell I’m smelling explain it to myself , what can I touch or am touching, what can I hear at the moment. Learning that has helped me calm myself in stressful situations and I’ve also learned to acknowledge the signs that I may have started an episode or will be soon and prepare myself and my thoughts to help me gather myself and remind myself it’s not totally my mind thinking whatever it will think during an episode. Learning more about my illness being able to capture it and pinpoint when they arrive has helped me being able to live life somewhat normally…whatever that means.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My Name is Aliayah but most know me from my social media under TheeAnimeShawty I’m a big advocate for mental illness and as well as taking your power back and being the true you regardless of others opinions
Even though I am a big advocate for all Mental health issues, I’m also a Dancer & Content Creator along with my normal 9-5.
I’m super interested in Anime as the name should give away very big on pop culture lifestyle.
I am taking my career to another level and new content coming along with Photoshoots and even doing another interview for mental health illnesses after pregnancy also known as Postpartum Depression please tune in to my Instagram to get the interview/Podcast!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I feel the most impactful thing I’ve learned over time between my skills/Knowledge and Quality were the fact I’ve always remained true to myself and my goals , staying focused on my Goals as well as learning that not everyone is a friend not everything is going to go your way and that’s fine having any obstacle thrown at your path is because either you were taking the wrong path and needed to be redirected or that wasn’t for you and your next step so embrace problems head on and have faith within yourself because nothing is ever handed to you in this world …you earn it and work for it or you get nothing
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Yes most definitely I would love to collaborate with more podcasting, Photographers and models I have a new line I would love to put out but need the models that fit my vision
I would also love to get in contact with more content creators and collaborate with ideas . I’m always available on my Instagram which is
