We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alicia Liu. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alicia below.
Alicia, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I found my purpose by paying close attention to the moments in my career that felt the most meaningful. I’ve always been passionate about food as a way to connect people and tell stories, but it wasn’t until I started experimenting with creating vegan ice creams that I felt everything click. With Lavender & Truffles, I realized I could merge my love for creativity, my Asian heritage, and my commitment to sustainability into a brand that genuinely brings joy and inclusion to others.
Being an AAPI female founder, it’s also important to me to create representation and open doors for others. My purpose now is to build a company that celebrates culture through flavor, sparks curiosity, and proves that plant-based desserts can be both indulgent and impactful. Every decision I make at Lavender & Truffles ties back to that mission.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
What excites me the most about Lavender & Truffles is how it’s so much more than ice cream – it’s a sensory and cultural experience. We reimagine traditional Asian flavors in a modern, elevated way, pairing unexpected ingredients with vegan craftsmanship so that every pint tells a story.
The brand’s artistry shows up in everything we do – from our hand-illustrated packaging that feels like a collectible piece of art, to our seasonal flavor drops that create curiosity and anticipation. We want people to feel like they’re unwrapping a small moment of luxury every time they experience the brand.
At its core, Lavender & Truffles is about sparking joy and connection through flavor, and that’s what makes it feel so alive and exciting right now.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Embrace change, stay liquid and be able to pivot without fear. Its ok to take small steps, test methods and use that data to pivot when needed. To stay relevant in the business, you need to be able to switch gears, especially when there are external forces that are unplanned, ie the pandemic!

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Yes! We’re always looking for like-minded partners who share our love for creativity, culture, and plant-based innovation. At Lavender & Truffles, collaboration is at the heart of what we do – whether it’s co-creating exclusive flavor drops with chefs and brands, partnering with boutique retailers who want to offer something truly special, or teaming up with lifestyle and luxury brands to create unique experiences.
We’re especially excited to work with partners who value artistry, storytelling, and community impact as much as we do. If that sounds like you, we’d love to connect!
