Meet Alicia Vaz

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alicia Vaz. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alicia, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Purpose is at the core of what I do, my reason for being, the “why” beyond fame or fortune that gets me up every day and keeps me persisting. It focuses my efforts and guides my decisions. But I truly discovered it in the silence.

If I’m honest, my purpose was always there. It was just hard to hear amid the relentless noise: packed calendars, constant notifications, and the mental checklist that never ended. I was always moving but couldn’t have told you why. I was building, but toward what? Serving, but out of what place?

Then I made a decision that felt almost rebellious in its simplicity: to sit with God every morning before the day made its demands. No agenda, no bullet-pointed prayers, just silence, Scripture, and space for His Spirit to speak.

At first, silence was uncomfortable. My mind raced through to-do lists and worries about falling behind. But I kept showing up to that chair, my Bible, that quiet. Little by little, things shifted.

In those moments, the Holy Spirit brought memories to the surface: times when I felt most alive, when I helped someone find clarity, when a word spoken in truth helped someone break through overwhelm. God reminded me of the gifts and experiences He had given—even the painful seasons that shaped me. I began to see the thread He had been weaving through my life.

I realized I’d often been running from something, letting busyness distract me from a deeper question: What has God actually wired me to do?

Those quiet mornings revealed the answer. I’ve always been the person people come to when they’re scattered or overwhelmed—the one who sees potential and through-lines in the chaos. I’ve lived through my own seasons of being stuck, doubting, and wanting to quit. And I found the way through, not by striving harder, but by getting still enough to listen.

That’s when my purpose crystallized: to be the steady, faith-fueled voice that helps entrepreneurs stay the course when the initial excitement fades and the real work begins.

It wasn’t a lightning-bolt moment. It was more like coming home to what was always planted in me, woven through my story, my gifts, and my struggles. I just had to get quiet enough to let God show it to me.

Now, purpose is my compass. It helps me say yes or no to opportunities, pulls me back when I’m tempted to scatter my focus, and reminds me—especially on hard days—that this work is about serving who God has put in front of me, not about me.

And it all started in the silence, the same place I encourage my clients to begin. This is heart work, and it’s where lasting purpose is found.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m the founder of Daredream, where I coach Christian entrepreneurs who come to me with brilliant ideas but feel stuck, scattered, and unsure of what to do next.

Most of my clients arrive second-guessing themselves, carrying a dozen half-formed ideas, wondering which path is right and whether they even have what it takes. They want to build something that truly aligns with who they are, their God-given skills, experiences, and calling, but they need help seeing clearly and building the right business model.

What makes this work special to me is where we begin: not with a framework or a formula, but with Christ at the center.

Yes, strategy matters. Structure serves a purpose. But I’ve found that the most powerful transformations happen when we start from the inside out, when we take time to explore what God has already placed within you before rushing to add another credential or copy someone else’s blueprint.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard, “I need to get a degree first” or “I’m not qualified yet.” My response? “Let’s see what you already have in your toolkit.” Because we consistently underestimate the value that’s already within us. The experiences we’ve lived, the problems we’ve solved, the way God has uniquely wired us, that’s where the real work begins.

The work itself? I get lost in it easily.

My coaching sessions are typically 45 minutes, but I’ve learned to build in buffer time because the breakthrough moments, the “aha” realizations where everything clicks often happen near the end. When a client suddenly sees the through-line in their story, or realizes they’ve been sitting on their answer all along, or gets clarity on the one next step that changes everything? That’s when I feel most alive. And when time permits, we keep going because momentum is sacred.

Over the past year, I’ve been holding space for weekly discipleship meetings and networking events, creating community for Christian entrepreneurs. But I’ve recently pivoted to focus more energy on personalized one-on-one coaching because the need is so great. Entrepreneurs want, and need, direct support on their specific challenges, not just general principles.

For those seeking both coaching and community, I offer two membership programs: Foundation Builder, designed for aspiring entrepreneurs needing structure and support, and Legacy Builder, for established entrepreneurs who want to journey alongside like-hearted peers as they scale with sustainability and kingdom impact. Both programs include group coaching and a supportive community of fellow believers who understand the unique challenges of building a business with faith at the center.

And there’s something new on the horizon: I’m in the early stages of writing my first book, which I plan to publish in 2026, God willing. It’s been brewing in me for a while, all these truths I’ve discovered in the silence, the patterns I’ve seen in hundreds of coaching conversations, the principles that help scattered entrepreneurs find their footing and finish what God started in them.

At Daredream, we don’t just chase business success. We build from purpose, create with intention, and finish what God puts in our hearts. Because the world doesn’t need more noise, it needs people who know who they are and what they’re called to do, and have the clarity and courage to act on it.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, three qualities have been most impactful in my journey: 1. Deep Listening
As far back as my days as a hair stylist and nail technician, I’ve been a listener. People didn’t just talk about hair, they shared their lives, dreams, and struggles. I learned early that most people don’t want you to fix everything; they want someone to truly hear them and help them hear themselves. Deep listening has been vital in coaching, allowing me to discern clarity beneath surface chaos; often the answers my clients need are hidden within their own words.

2. Connecting People to Resources and Opportunities
I’ve always loved being a bridge, seeing what someone needs and connecting them with the right person or resource. It’s never about having all the answers, but having the eyes to see what’s already available. This is essential, especially for entrepreneurs who feel isolated or unsure where to turn. Introducing someone to a relevant resource or supportive connection can move them from feeling stuck to supported.

3. Anchoring in Silence and Truth
This is the foundation for all else. Time spent in morning silence with God has helped me discern truth from noise, set boundaries, and guide my decisions. Every major business pivot has come from this stillness. It’s something I teach my clients first; build your strategy on a solid foundation shaped by God’s truth.

My advice for folks early in their journey:
Start by creating space. Commit to ten minutes of silence with God each morning, not a rushed prayer before your day explodes, but intentional time where you sit with Him before you sit with your problems. It will feel unproductive at first. Stay anyway.
Practice listening without planning your response. In your conversations, focus entirely on understanding rather than being helpful or having the answer. Ask follow-up questions that go deeper: “Tell me more about that” or “What makes that significant to you?” Notice what you hear that the person themselves might not be hearing yet.
Become genuinely curious about people; their gifts, their challenges, what they’re working on. Keep notes. When you see an opportunity to connect two people or point someone to a resource, do it immediately. The habit of connecting builds the skill of seeing connections.

The clarity, the connections, the calling you’re searching for in the hustle? They’re actually waiting for you in the stillness. You can’t give clear direction to others if you’re not receiving it yourself. So slow down, stay present, and trust that what God is building in you through these seemingly simple practices will become the foundation for everything you’re meant to do.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Yes, I’m actively seeking meaningful collaborations with guest speakers and experts who can offer solutions that genuinely support Christian entrepreneurs in our community. If you serve a similar audience, but in areas like marketing strategy, financial stewardship, leadership development, tech solutions, or any other expertise that helps entrepreneurs build with excellence, I’d love to explore how we might work together.

What makes a collaboration truly meaningful to me is more than just complementary services; it’s about shared values and a commitment to kingdom impact. I’m interested in partnering with those who see their work as ministry, who lead with integrity, and who steward their callings as much as their businesses. It’s about serving entrepreneurs better, not just expanding a platform.

Members of our Daredream community are eager for fresh perspectives on the challenges they face, practical solutions, delivered with faith at the center. If that resonates with you and your expertise could support these entrepreneurs, let’s talk.

Connect with me at daredream.co or on social media @daredreamDC. I’d love to hear about your work, your audience, and explore how we can create greater impact together.
