Meet Aligned Mommas – Nikki & Samantha

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Aligned Mommas – Nikki & Samantha. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Aligned Mommas – Nikki & Samantha below.

Hi Aligned Mommas – Nikki & Samantha, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

Samantha: It all started back in 2018 when Nikki and I met through our boys’ rec baseball team. We hit it off right away, but it wasn’t until 2019 that our friendship was really tested—and solidified. Nikki’s baby girl, Sadie, was born with cancer, and those were some of the hardest years of her life.

Nikki: I’ll never forget how Samantha stood by me through all of that. It was during that time we both realized how much we loved helping other moms—whether it was single moms, moms with sick kids, or moms just trying to hold it together.

Samantha: Exactly. When Sadie rang the bell in 2023 to celebrate being cancer-free, Nikki told me she felt called to something bigger.

Nikki: I just knew I couldn’t go back to life as it was. I felt this undeniable pull to create a community where women would never feel alone in their struggles. I told Samantha I wanted to quit my job and start something to support other women.

Samantha: And I was all in! We started the Aligned Mommas Community with one purpose: to help adult women build real, healthy, and supportive friendships. Women need community. It’s not just a nice-to-have; it’s essential.

Nikki: We’ve seen how much it can change lives. In just over a year, we’ve grown to thousands of women across several counties. From monthly socials to outreach events, it’s all about showing up for each other in meaningful ways.

Samantha: And the podcast has been such a blessing, too. We’re able to share inspiring stories and remind women they’re never alone. It’s all rooted in our mission to create a space where women can connect and thrive—together.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

We – in a nut shell – help women! Our focus? Helping adult women find and maintain HEALTHY adult friendships.

We are most proud of watching women connect who have shared before joining our community that they didn’t have any close friends. We have seen so many women come together! We also feel very blessed to see the happiness and relief from outreach recipients when our team shows up to help them.

What sets us apart is that we believe we are the first, boots on the ground, grassroots group in Missouri, possibly nationally, to start a movement to help women find friends. Our podcast too, is solely based on encouraging women – iron sharpening iron.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three most impactful qualities in our journey have been – above all God – and also love, respect, and selflessness. Loving and respecting others creates genuine connections, while putting others’ needs ahead of our own builds trust and fosters community.

For those starting out, our advice is to practice active listening, show up for people even in small ways, and always lead with kindness. These qualities not only strengthen relationships but also give your work deeper purpose and meaning.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?

We anticipated and have experienced financial struggles since our launching, but we are making it through!

We both quit our jobs to start the mission. That, coupled with the economy right now, has put some heavy pressure on us – but each of our husbands, and we, believe in this mission and see financial provision coming.

With our hearts to help women, and the amount of need out there – prioritizing and balancing our family life with the busy mission IS MORE THAN TOUGH! Soon we’ll be offering others invitations to join our team.
